FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began going to school to be an electrician many years back. While I was in school I responded to a Craigslist ad of somebody needing painting done in their home. I responded and went to give a quote and it turned out that the customer was a real estate agent who owned a number of properties. So while I was in school I continued to work for him and he allowed me to learn how to do many things as we went one by one remodeling his properties. By the time I finished school, which I did graduate, I had actually hooked up with a general contractor and decided to work as his apprentice. I continued on with that for several years. I then later on went to partner up with somebody in a tile and stone fabricating company. I made friends in many different trades. I've worked in HVAC. I worked in plumbing. So once I decided to go on my own I was thoroughly experienced in basically all the different trades. Also along the way I managed to acquire multiple properties which I fully remodeled.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with every type of customer that there is. I have worked with couple that just bought their first home and wanted to customize or update it. I've worked with real estate investors that flip properties. I've worked with commercial building owners. Restaurant owners, retail business owners. you name it I've worked with them. Every race every age bracket.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently worked with a couple, mainly the wife, who had just bought a building in Milpitas. They wanted to turn it into a preschool. They had been referred somebody by their attorney. This guy did a horrible job and did many outrageous things that I was amazed to hear about. Things like doing drugs on the site allowing homeless friends of his to live inside the building who had to be removed by the police. he was ripping them off for materials, buying extra materials and keeping them for himself. he did not finishing practically any of the work that was asked of him and he was in this building working for over 6 months. He had chased every other contractor away that they had called in to help. Finally they got in touch with me. I came in with my crew of course he was there trying to butt in while we were doing our work and we just continue to ignore him ask him to please leave us alone he's distracting us from our work and that we wanted to have nothing to do with him. we went on to finish each task one by one that he had begun and not completed. they had failed every inspection so far and they were on their final chance to pass an inspection and coming up on their deadline for their safety inspections that were required for them to care for children. I'm pleased to say that we were able to complete the entire building and get everything up to code we passed all their inspections and were able to do it for an extremely great price considering that they had lost a ton of money already because of this guy that they had hired initially. needless to say they were very grateful and we continue to work with them on other properties that they do own in fact they call me back regularly for all kinds of things and I'm always pleased to go back and help him no matter how big or small the project is.
