FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My minimum labor charge for small service jobs is $150. An on-site assessment is $50 and is credited toward the labor cost if you hire me for the project. Photos often allow me to provide a preliminary price range, but final pricing is confirmed after the scope and actual conditions are verified. Materials, disposal, and store trips are quoted separately when applicable.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Send photos, approximate dimensions, and a brief description of the problem or planned project. For a pocket door conversion, please include photos of both sides of the wall and the available wall length. 2. I review the information and provide a preliminary price range when possible. 3. If needed, I inspect the opening and wall conditions on site. 4. The scope, materials, schedule, and price are confirmed before work begins. 5. I complete the work, test the door or window, and clean the work area.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My training is based on more than 15 years of hands-on experience in finish carpentry, door and window installation, framing, trim work, and wood repair. My experience includes pocket door systems, standard hinged and prehung doors, jamb and frame repairs, hardware installation, and restoration of damaged wood. I follow manufacturer specifications and standard U.S. installation practices.
