Tree Trimming and Removal

Very not-trivial front-yard landscaping project completed by David and his crew without a hitch. Project included removing large amount of soil, building split rail fence with 9 hand-built stone veneer columns and red wood 4x4 rails, installing stone veneer around the front of the house (about 80 linear feet), installing about 800 sq feet of artificial turf, adding about 5 tonnes of cobble stone, truck load of mulch, planting a tree and about 40 plants, adding drip irrigation system and trimming 4 medium size trees.

We had an excellent experience with David and his crew. They did a great job executing our landscape plan and turning our dream into a reality. David’s foreman and his team were awesome workers. They showed up on time every day, worked hard and left a clean job site. David and his team were flexible with our design changes and implemented them without question. The attention to detail on the paver installation, irrigation, lighting and the planting was top notch. The finished project exceeded our expectations and we are very pleased.

Deck or Porch Remodel or Addition

We chose David and his team to tear down and replace a tired old deck, but with a new footprint. Work Quality: This was not just great workmanship, but actual craftsmanship. The detail and precision of the joints, cuts, spacing of the boards was meticulous. The fact that there are no seams, no uneven gaps, and no screws visible on top of the deck surface is amazing. Professionalism: The crew showed up each day on time! They wore company logo'd shirts and jackets and had company vehicles. Each day the sawdust and construction mess was cleaned up by sweeping or blowing, all tools were stacked and out of the way, wood was piled up neatly so the area looked clean and tidy each night before they left for the day. There were no remnants of lunch litter or water bottles scattered in the yard. They even had their own portable restroom delivered so there were no muddy boots tracking into our bathroom. That was something that indicates a concern for the workmen by the company. Happy workers are good workers. Responsiveness: We are able to discuss any questions or issues that came up during construction with the team. Since we were installing lighting in the stairs, there were some logistics involved and they were more than happy to help or provide info. Between the ability to contact David by email or text at any time, I never felt that I was out of the loop on any aspect of the project. One thing that was especially impressive was that the first rain day I received an early morning email confirming that the team would not be on site that day. That NEVER happens! I assumed they wouldn't be working but to get actual notification before the start of the day was above and beyond and very much appreciated. Value: I can say in complete honesty that this is the first project ever that we felt we got more than what we paid. The price was very fair to begin with, but the additional touches exceeded any expectations. For instance, the lack of surface screws was not something we requested or even thought to ask about. It could have been an option that was brought up as an additional charge, but it was just done, included in the original pricing. Extremely pleasant surprise! Punctuality: On time each day, and worked full days. If there was a rain day expected, it was communicated. In summary, this is a company that we can wholeheartedly recommend without any reservation. Estate Scapes will be our go-to for all things landscape or hardscape related. The entire experience was excellent. I will update with photos shortly.

David's super nice and really easy to work with. His pricing is also very competitive - he was able to work with us to get costs within budget. He also stands by his work with warranties on his plants and irrigation. We had him completely redo the front and backyards, including building 3 vegetable boxes, digging new irrigation, installing 2 rows of vines with trellising, and finally replacing the side fence and gate. We are definitely happy with the quality of work and can't wait to see how our garden will look in the coming years. There were just a couple paperwork issues, but not dealbreakers. I would recommend you either overcommunicate your expectations and maybe exchange numbers with the on-site crew chief in case any questions arise. RIP Mystery Plum Tree. We don't know who planted you and we don't know who took you, but we will miss you!

Land Leveling and Grading - Small Scale (less than 1 acre)

4.5 stars. David did a landscape demo, french drain and DG install for me - a "smaller job" than most in my area. He still approached it with care and consideration. He was great to work with - he's responsive and willing to work with your specific needs and timeline. I was impressed because he worked out a solution for the site restrictions and 1) saved me money 2) avoided removing neighbor's fences 3) did not damage existing sprinklers. Other contractor bids were higher, required significant additional costs and the given site restrictions might have caused more damage than intended. Since they did work before Christmas and there were heavy storms, some items needed to be readdressed in the new year. David had his guys come out at no additional cost to me. Really great landscape result and service experience.
