- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When the people calling me, or ringing my doorbell, seeking help---one of the most notable was the man who rang my doorbell in San Francisco, just after dinner-time/ He was dressed in suit and tie and had a briefcase---who said, "Mr. Barbeau, you don't khow me, but I have just come in from Chicago to see you and if you can't see me this evening, I will be off the bridge before dawn."---when the flow of such folk meant I was getting little writing done, and was seeing three or four folks a day, I decided one day that I must get a license, Indeed, before I had a license I gave the keynote address to the Marriage and Family Therapists of California ..when they were in their fourth year.

That we are two pilgrims on the same round and that, in the therapeutic relationship, I bring not only specialized training but lifetime of lessons learned.
