Concept Co Designs was simply amazing. Gabby was very professional. I was so nervous about working with someone not in the same state as me because in my mind I wanted to meet with the person face to face. She had a written contract for payment to sign which made me feel safe to hire her services. It all seemed legal and professional this way I knew she wasn't wasting my time and I wasn't wasting hers. Gabby did such a good job with emailing and communicating with me. She was professional and really understood what I wanted. We sent so many messages back and forth until she made a custom design for my wedding invitations. She had deadlines each week for what she wanted to accomplish which kept us on track with the end of March deadline I needed the invitations for. She made me, formal invitations, personalized envelopes (with peoples names and addresses), thank you notes with the same, table numbers, invitations, direction cards, menu for the food, quotes to frame for the tables, number cards and much more. Gabby did it all for me! She made getting married so much easier. She also sent me the sweetest thank you card for letting her work on my wedding stuff. I couldn't thank her enough. I would recommend her highly to anyone who needs help with artful invitations.

Spencer was great to work with! I let him know what I wanted and within a few hours he sent me a mock up. We talked about how to change it, ideas for the future, and he gave me a rocking design that I can use. You can't ask for better than that!

I’d leave Ian a dozen good reviews if I could as I’ve hired / worked with him on a couple of handfuls of projects throughout the years. From graphic design stuff for my art studio and restaurant to art installation projects for a friends record label. He’s always gone above and beyond with attention to detail in terms of graphics and what not. Very creative and soft spoken so you may have to explain your vision a couple times but once he catches on its game time. He also, has the ability to take on projects start to finish if your willing to give up creative control. Would highly recommend as his analog approach to art and installation work is a dying breed. Pics are some examples I could randomly find on my phone but there’s some hands on painting in my art studio, to some photography work he’s done and even found an old pic of a T-shirt he helped print about 18 years ago. Time flies. He’s been consistent and growing in his abilities as an artist, photographer, musician. And father.

Where do I start... First off, Jon is absolutely wonderful. Not only is he extremely attentive but he gets things done and that is what I like about him. No BS, no time wasted. I need something or have a question, he has it handled. I have a website for a dental practice and its rather bland. It's template form and I cant do much about it. We have had this website for the past 17 years and you can only imagine how outdated it looks and is as a whole. With all the new and upcoming trends going on, its VERY important to make sure that your website is up to date, responsive and that your marketing content is intriguing and not dull. A friend of mine referred me to 2Point! I gave him a call last week, we scheduled a meeting and he arrived to the practice to discuss our 'strategy plan'. Great guy, no cutting corners and is straight to the point. Within a few days, his designers had a mock up website ready to be presented and let me just say, it looks fantastic. Its fresh, elegant, and straight to the point. Just how I like things as a marketing manager. He listened to everything I wanted and made it happen. A problem I am dealing with on the website is the bounce rate and funneling patients to a specific page. With this new website layout, I am sure that we will be able to grasp peoples attention and give them the information they need rather than them exiting out of our website upon arrival. We are in the process of signing papers and such! I will be updating my review within the next couple months to give other people an update on whats going on. So far, its been nothing but a great experience. Thanks 2Point!

Alan is an extremely talented professional, working in many different media. Over multiple years I have worked with Alan on many numerous graphic design projects, my personal artwork projects, studio portrait photography shoots, on location chroma key photography events, video projects, and utilizing his original music scores created in his personal recording studio. I have learned a lot of things from him that have enhanced my own graphics business. He so easy to get along, with making technical information understandable on my level. I highly recommend his services, as you will get back twice as much knowledge that you would expect, at an affordable price. Marc

Terri is a very personable and highly professional graphic designer. I very much enjoyed developing my business logo with her. She produced several image themes for me to choose from, and each design was so good and effective that I actually had some trouble with my final choice! I now have a very eye-catching, imaginative and unique logo that says what I want it to say. It was such a pleasant and positive experience..I would really recommend Terri very highly.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Why should you hire a web designer?

Your website is often the first thing your customers see when they’re searching for a business or service on the web. As the face of your organization, your website needs to be attractive and functional, offering the latest features that users now expect. To plan and design a site that both reflects your company’s mission and values and appeals to customers takes a professional web designer. While free online services can help people set up websites, web designers can provide a unique solution made specifically to meet customers’ personal or business needs.

Most web designers offer a wide variety of services to make your website aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. Modern web design must be mobile-friendly and scalable, capable of expanding to include a blog, social media sites, and even video streaming; web designers are experts at integrating various web technologies. They can build the site, add functionality, test it, launch it on a live server, and track and maintain its performance.

In addition to web design and graphic design, some web design providers also offer development and security services, including search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing and management, logo design, site maintenance, domain registration and hosting, protection against malware, and digital marketing and content services.

What should you look for in a website designer?

A professional web designer creates the look and feel of your website, collaborating with you to choose colors, creating logos and other branding materials, establishing page layouts, and creating sample pages. An important part of web design is making sure the site is functional, meets your goals, and is easy for users to navigate. When you’re looking to hire a web designer, start by reviewing the person’s portfolio. Look for samples of work that match what you envision for your website, including experience building the types of pages or features you want. Make sure the web designer is familiar with your industry and understands both industry trends and web design trends — an old-fashioned or out-of-touch site will turn customers away rather than intrigue them.

Because web designers tend to work as freelancers on a project basis, they must be excellent communicators, willing to manage their own work, and available on your schedule. Some critical skills, such as working collaboratively and responding enthusiastically to feedback, aren’t core to good web design, but make working with a web designer much easier. Finally, look for a web designer who has cross-functional knowledge, such as understanding marketing and conversion rate optimization in addition to web design.

How much do web designers charge?

The average cost for hiring a web designer varies greatly depending on the scope of the work, which may range from building a site from scratch to rebranding an existing one, as well as the amount of content and graphics the designer will create. In general, the more complex the project, the more time the design agency will have to spend. Because web designers often work on an hourly basis, the longer the project, the higher the costs; you can count on the web designer spending at minimum 10 hours to create a very basic website with just a handful of pages with few elements. Prices also depend on the designer’s skill set, the process, and the company’s rates. In general, the national average cost for a basic website package starts at $500, but a customized website can cost as much as $2,000 or more. Here are typical average hourly rates, broken out by the complexity of the work:

  • Basic layout and user interface: $15-$40 per hour
  • Content management system design: $20-$50 per hour
  • Custom website design with custom code: $45-$75 per hour

What makes a good logo design?

A good logo is an easily identifiable, memorable image that represents your brand. A good logo design aligns with your business model and expresses your company’s core values. A good logo design is simple, appealing, and easy for customers and viewers to quickly process. Some of the key components of a great logo are type, color palette and design. The scale, font and arrangement of the text you select will all make a difference in the feel and representation of your brand. A graphic designer will help you home in on the colors that best represent your identity and help you keep the color palette simple. The design of your logo includes the shapes you select and the way the color and type are arranged together. Investing in the services of a professional to create your logo design is likely a smart investment for any size business. Nationally, the average price range for a logo designer ranges from $170 to $250.

What do you look for in a web design company?

The web design company you choose must be able to interpret your company’s mission and identity and turn it into an appealing website that connects with potential customers. They must help you reach your target audience and meet your business goals. A web design agency should have on staff both talented web designers, with fresh ideas and extensive technical and creative skills, and a marketing team that knows how to drive traffic to your site, encourage visitor engagement, and convert visitors into customers. Web designers should be able to build in search optimization and integrate your site with a content management system and e-commerce tools. Look, too, for a website design company that understands responsive design and can optimize your website for mobile devices and desktop browsers. The right web design company understand current design and website trends, has experience building sites in a variety of industries (not just yours), and has an expansive portfolio of live websites. Finally, don’t simply hire the cheapest bidder — in web design, as in all things, you get what you pay for.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
