Introduction

Hello! My name is Ryan Crosthwaite. I am a local, 27 year old graduate-student pianist who graduated Cum Laude from San Diego State University with a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance. I've been teaching for 7 years, and currently have a combined roster of 50 total students (including group and private students). I'm still enrolled at SDSU where I have a full-ride musical-merit based scholarship and I am working on completing my Master's degree in music composition and film-scoring. I make learning the piano fun, and I love teaching my students how to play and enjoy music, not just read ink from a page. I know how to balance education with entertainment and inspire my students to be the best they can be.

We invited Ryan over to our home for a piano teaching position interview and to relate with our kids. He arrived promptly on time and was very courteous and professional. He described his schooling, his experience, and his approach to his teaching style. We were highly impressed but, more importantly, my kids felt very comfortable with him and, as a result, were looking forward to taking lessons from him.

I'm currently working towards my Master's Degree in Music Composition and Film Scoring at San Diego State University. I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance from San Diego State University in 2018 and have performed internationally as part of the Semper Music International Competition in Vols am Schlern, Italy. I teach Class Piano as an associate faculty member of the school, and teach my roster of 20 private and 30 group students every week.
