Max led a self defense training for a company women's group. Everyone left feeling empowered and stronger and more confident in themselves. Max was knowledgeable, great at explaining all the moves, and great with questions.
Jason is by far the best trainer that I have known. He is very knowledgeable about different exercises to incorporate into his workouts as well as physiology and diets. He seems to know just how much to push you without over doing it. Plus he makes workouts fun! To top it off, he owns a clean, very well equipped private gym near the Alameda beach which surpasses any others in the area. Plus he is trained in massage too. Do your self a favor and try him.
So great! Martin taught a self-defense class at our office with his colleague, Angelo. The class was informative, fun, and gave us all a basic understanding of some moves we could use if we ever had to defend ourselves. Martin answered all of our questions about different scenarios and gave clear, useful instructions. We had a blast and really enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend!
Went to Jeremy to get beginner adult boxing/self defense lessons. Jeremy was extremely professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable - he listened to what I wanted to learn and helped me get to exactly where I wanted. He is also a personal trainer, and I've seen him with some of this other clients who all really like working with Jeremy. Highly recommend going to Jeremy for any kind of fitness or self defense lessons!
Not only is Debra a very knowledgeable instructor, she has gained my respect by demonstrating healthy dance/movement/training practices. At every class; she applies and provides injury prevention education with a mindfulness to each student's level.

My three children have been training with Jay since they were five years old. Now that they are becoming teenagers, they look to him for physical training but also as a life coach. Jay teaches self discipline and respect as he coaches.
My wife and I have been training with Jay for the last one year. We have trained with Jay for fitness, self defense, kickbox, and jujitsu. Since we enjoy working with him, we have also scheduled our own private family classes with him. I learn something new each class and have fun at the same time. I have lost over 40 pounds in the last one year.
After a series of scary encounters with an individual, I decided to learn self defense techniques because I felt ill-equipped and unsafe. I read Vince's reviews and reached out to him on Thumbtack. Vince is a fantastic trainer. He is knowledgeable, experienced, and most importantly, a good human being. I appreciate that Vince does not have a "one size fits all" approach. He tailored my sessions to my specific needs. Overall, I really enjoyed working with him. I met my goals. I feel safer and capable of defending myself if necessary. I plan to take more classes with him soon.
I started training with Shoshannah last August, after injuries had kept me from working out for a year or so and I was super out of shape. I went to group classes taught by her. Her classes were always fun, incredibly positive and she does a great job considering for injuries and making the classes interesting. She also incorporated elements of self defense. My endurance and strength have increased so much since the classes I was taking with her. I'd recommend her to anyone who wants to get started, or get back into a fitness routine.
The instructors are great, their instruction topnotch. I enrolled my son 9 and daughter 10 to learn the value of discipline and to learn self defense. Both of them joining and winning in tournaments, has learned not just the value of discipline but goal-setting and hard work to achieve they're goals. I've had one lesson with Cindy so far and loved it! She walked me through proper techniques and we did a variety of self-defense training so I was constantly challenged and learning. I can say that after one lesson I already feel much more prepared, but I'm looking forward to learning more and getting stronger in the process! I'd recommend Cindy to anyone who is looking for the perfect balance of self-defense lessons and working out!
Terri was incredibly helpful. She gave me two private lessons preparing me for self defense (body lang, verbal and physical skills) for me to use when traveling the world alone. I highly recommend Freemon's self defense training (the art of Kali) to anyone who doubts that within one session s/he could feel more confident in protecting her/himself. It is the most efficient form of self defense I have come across and will leave you wanting more.

If you are looking to get in to your peak physical form, head to Pro-Fitness Athletics. I used to play pretty competitive hockey and I made it my mission to get back to my playing shape. While I only play in Mens league down in San Jose now, I consistently sit at the top of the league scoring and helped power our team to 2 CAHA state championships in the last 3 years. John, the owner of the gym, knows what it takes as an elite athlete. Having played in the NFL, he understands both the mental and physical components of your optimal self. The sessions are fun and energetic, John knows how to push people (in a good way) to make sure they reach their goals. Definitely recommend Pro-Fitness.
I started working out with Joe in a gym at the University of Southern California. He was apart of the MFA program there and I heard he was some boxer guy. Little did I know that our work outs would not only challenge my athleticism (when I first started I could only jump rope for 30 seconds straight and I considered myself in great shape. Now I can jump for 30 minutes) but he also challenged me spiritually. Joe approaches boxing with a philosophy that can aid you in your every day life. Through our training he's helped me build a higher level of self value and confidence, not only as an artist but as a man. He's truly a gem to work with and I highly recommend you support his work. Plus it's really nice to hit something. You'll do plenty of that and feel really good. It's a great sweat and you don't really think about how hard you're working when working out.
