Arisel replaced an old wooden fence with a new chain link that worked great for us. He turned our front gate into an automatic closing gate which we desperately needed. I told him after this update that I was unsure of the material he used and its durability, but Arisel assured me it would hold up and that if I had any problems he would replace it at no cost to me. I appreciate the confidence and reassurance he gave me.
This is my first rating on thumbtack. I have to say I was happy to find a reference service such as thumbtack, which lead me to find Edwin's fencing. I had a smaller fence issue I had originally posted help for and got a very reasonable quote. So after researching others who bid for the project and checking work background and photos of other projects done and references, I hired this company for that smaller fence project. Edwin was personal to talk with. He was kind and very professional. I got a reasonable quote for the first smaller project and was pleased with his quote. We set a day and time which he fit me into the schedule for that project rather quickly from hiring on thumbtack to speaking on the phone (timely replays). Subsequently, before we could get to that project the big storms hit our area. As a result of the high winds another section of fencing was wiped out! The series of storms "took out" almost half of the fence in my front yard, this time. I texted him that night about 7:30pm when I got home and seen that. He texted me back, right away. I submitted pictures for the more urgent fencing project (putting the first project on hold). I got a reasonable quote that I was able to afford. I hired him for that big project, too. My point that I wrote this review in more detail is simply stated: I was impressed how he was timely in reply as it establishes to me, that he was flexible on a more "urgent based project" requested of him. That (in my opinion) says a lot about his company and his work ethic, in meeting the client/customer's needs as they change. He had shown a willingness to re-evaluate and work with a new situation, without being hesitant. It also established (in my opinion) he had all the boards and post, that would be perfectly matching up with the rest of the fence on hand supply. This project was a large section that was damaged and down. the type of fence posts and boards I have all the way around a small little "pasture" I have is not what I see as a standard fence. I thought for sure he would need to order more for this. However, again that was not an issue. He was prepared. He came out a few days later and fixed it for me. He matched the fence post for the entire yard to keep it uniform. you can't tell there was any fence damage and what part was down. He cleaned up and removed the damaged fence, supervised the project as well as did it himself with his crew all the way to the end. I wasn't home when he was here. I know all of this because I have cameras around my property and I watched his work from Cameras sitting at my work at my desk! He knew I wasn't home. This should say a lot. He worked the entire time. He had no idea I was "supervising" the project from another location. I wrote these details specifically to vouch for his ability to "change gears" as he must have all those items ready to go on hand (for the most part) so for the clients/customers, as in my case, I didn't have to wait for ordering of any supplies. There was no wait time (other than the rain and wind to stop) for me. He and his crew worked as promised start to finish even when the customer wasn't home, he held to his work ethics! I want others to know, if your considering anyone to do a fence project, please know Edwin's fencing will take time to learn all the details for your job tasks and projects and do a stellar job! And as far as that smaller project originally, I'm hiring him back for that soon, as well. Thank you Edwin's fencing and the crew! You rock!!
We found Salinas home remodeling services most helpful in several ways. Services done for us included electrical wiring, plumbing installation, wall and ceiling painting with texture applications. Also, bathtub, sink and appliance installation. All work was done at high standards. Note: we also experienced generous and positive attitudes from soft spoken professionals, and received on time service. Above all, we have memories of his installation process that are most rewarding. Thank You, Mr. Vyron Salinas and his helper Pablo. Yours truly, Nicholas Adkins
My project was a fence repair. Pedro was one of the four people showing up and giving me a bid. His bid, along with another one, was the middle ground with a good workable solution. After reading his reviews I gave him the job. He showed up on time, bought all the material, and finished the job on time. He did not mind a couple of changes in the middle of the work. I am happy with his work, and I will hire him again for a job.
David was very punctual and professional. He exemplifies quality and his almost 20 years of experience shines through with every detail of the job. David is definitely a man of respect and integrity. Our family agreed having David for future work in our home is a MUST! We had various repairs (windows, plumbing, carpentry, fence repair, etc.) and David completed the work not only in a timely manner, but he was very clean, organized, and kind.
Hugo provided emergency fence building service and, with some planning, finished a day before a major escrow deadline after a tree fell through the back fence. New fence is better than the old one, and he helped me re-hang the chain link gate in a satisfactory manner. The fence boards are cut out flush with the gate hinges making those disappear.
Kirk and his team performed an interior remodel and a new garage build for my house from January 2011 to July 2011. I am satisfied with Kirks work. He is very experienced in new constructions and remodels. He did a very good job for a very good price. Kirk also gave me lots of free extras at his expense. In March 2010 I purchased a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom house in Union City, California. The house was in good structural condition, but as a foreclosured unit, it needed some rehabilitation. The original detached garage was in poor condition; it was badly damaged by termites and water. My intent was to have the detached garage demolished and completely rebuilt from the ground up. I planned on doing interior renovation at a later time. I found Kirk from craigslist and he had a link to his Thumbtack page. I called him and he came by to give me an estimate. He said he could give me a really good deal on a new garage and do an interior remodel for a little more than what I would have paid for the garage alone. Kirk was really enthusiastic about doing my job, much more so than the other contractors I had come to give me a bid. Kirk also had very good ideas about modernizing the interior. He suggested a bar counter between my kitchen and dining area. He would also turn my empty utility rooms into a master bedroom and master bathroom. And he wanted to create a laundry machine closet. Kirk had an architect draw the construction plans; his architect did a really nice job. He submitted it to the city as part of the permit application process. I wanted the work done with all permits so everything would be by the book. It would also help should I decide to sell the house at a later date. Kirk started out on the interior work first. He demolished the old kitchen and utility room. He built a new kitchen, a master bedroom, a master bathroom, a laundry machine closet, and a small coat closet by the front door. Kirk said he could also do a couple more things to the interior. He would do the labor for cheap if I paid for the materials. So I agreed and Kirk also replaced my front door, front window, and sliding glass door. He also remodeled my fireplace and fixed a bunch of broken things in my original bathroom. Kirk also completely rewired the house. The original wiring was a dangerous mess, a potential fire hazard. The interior work was completed towards the end of April 2011 and all the work was approved by the city inspector. It looked really nice. I received many compliments from friends and family. I am fairly picky with details and I did notice a couple flaws with fit and finish. I pointed out them out to Kirk. He and his workers did fix them. The garage work started immediately afterwards. The old garage was not worth saving so it was demolished and hauled away. The original foundation was unusable. So Kirk jackhammered it out. Kirk poured a new heavy-duty foundation onto an extensive frame of rebar. He tied it into the house foundation. Then he framed the new oversized 510 square foot garage. Kirk added a storage attic with a pull-down ladder. Kirk also poured a new driveway that looked excellent. Kirk added a 50 amp subpanel to the garage. He also gave me a bunch of free extras like wall insulation. Kirk also used roof panels coated with an aluminum heat reflective substance. The garage was completed by the end of July 2011. It looked really nice. Like the interior, I also received compliments from friends and family. The above garage attic storage with the pull-down ladder was really useful. The garage also passed city inspection. There were also a few issues with fit and finish in the garage. Kirk fixed the problems that I pointed out. While the garage was being built, Kirk also repaired my patio awning and side perimeter fence. He did an excellent job on them. One lady even drove by, stopped, and complimented on how nice the outside looks. I am overall satisfied with Kirks work. He really transformed my house. Since everything was done with permits, I now have a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house on county and city records. If you want to see his work on my house, ask Kirk to give you my phone number.
We hired Dave to do a medium sized job at our home. It was what I would call a "landscape refresh/repair". We had another landscaper do some work a couple of years back and it looked great at first but quickly because a major issue as the lawn was dying and the flagstone he installed started falling apart within a very short period of time. We tried on a number of occasions to get the other landscaper to come back and fix his work but he never did. So, I finally came to Thumbtack, interviewed a number of possible landscapers and landed on Dave. This time, as a way of protecting ourselves from our last experience I asked Dave to sign a contract prior to starting. He was totally willing to do that which gave me some peace of mind. He got started when he said he would and overall the project went very smooth. First I'll list the positives from our experience: • Job was done in a reasonable amount of time and the end result is beautiful! • Dave stayed within the budget we set • He did some little extras for us which were greatly appreciated like building a redwood box to cover our sprinkler valves and added some soil around our front yard fence posts to even out the grade of the lawn. • He was selected very nice looking plants for us, with minimal direction from me, and chose larger size plants to give it a better look to start out and also to give the plants a better chance of surviving. Landscapers we have used in the past plan 4" plants instead of 1 gallon to save money but many of them die within the first couple of weeks. • He will continue to come by and keep tabs on how things are growing and make sure nothing dies right out of the gate. • He came up with innovative solutions to some of our irrigation issues Here are a couple of things that were less than perfect: • There were a couple of miscommunications between Dave and the guy who was doing the work. One of those led to a very frustrating couple of hours for my husband who had to dig out a bunch of new soil and mulch in order to find disconnect speaker and lighting wires and repair them even though the worked knew that those wires were disconnected. Instead, the worker should have waited to cover those areas until the wires were fixed. Dave handled this well though and worked with my husband on getting the issue resolved. All in all, we were very happy with Dave and his team. They were clean, courteous and did quality work. I will update again in a few weeks with how things are growing.
I highly recommend Fredy for any of your handyman needs. I hired him for a small drywall project but i could see he had many skills so I had him to numerous projects: wood floor sanding and staining, crown moulding and baseboard install, framing, wallpaper, plumbing, welding, tile repair, painting, furniture building, building a fence, and finish carpentry. I am probably missing some things! I worked with numerous other tradesman before I found Fredy on Thumbtack, and I found the quality and reliability of others slipped over time, but not Fredy! He continued to maintain a high level of customer service throughout the numerous projects. He always asks if I'm happy, and replies by saying "I'm not happy if you're not happy!" And I could tell he meant it. I also found his level of ethics to be very high and his pricing very fair. He is an upbeat personality which is also a pleasure to work with. I will continue to use Fredy for all my handyman needs in my home and business.
Richard overal did a good job. Although i thought he wasa a little slow at times, he took it upon himself to fix something that needed fixing and surprised me in coming up with a fantastic solution to a project i needed done but couldn't figure out how to do it. Some of his jobs included putting up a mesh screen, fixed some barbed wire, put up some lights and installed some drapes. Thank you.
