About
Hi!
I'm Brooke; I have a Stanford BA and USC MFA and have been tutoring 1:1 and in group settings for 20+ years. I've coached several students to perfect SAT or ACT scores and scored perfectly on both exams as an adult, most recently this June on the enhanced ACT. My college essay students have been admitted to Stanford, MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and just under half typically get into their ED/EA or first choice schools. I have 20K+ hrs experience tutoring students from ages 8-adult.
For test prep, I use an approach I call the cycle of learning: take a practice test, review what you've missed, target those areas, and repeat the process. I’ve built an online SAT prep platform and algorithm to specifically analyze Bluebook SAT practice exam results to target specific areas of weakness (and do this manually for other exams). I also teach students to overcome other hurdles: managing careless errors, improving speed, and optimizing despite test anxiety.
I've written 2 math books for the ACT (25k+ sold) and created online SAT/ACT prep courses used by thousands globally. Additionally, I have garnered over 270K followers/30 million views of my SAT/ACT and college prep video content. I've twice been named a top 100 WyzAnt tutor, and though I'm new to Thumbtack, I have over 600 five star ratings on WyzAnt.
I'm a seasoned test prep pro: I've seen how other companies teach (contracting with 10+ of them) and know how to get results. My students describe me as energetic and funny. I mostly tutor high achievers.
As a consultant, I specialize in college essays. Given my storytelling background as a former tv/media producer, I've helped many put their best selves on paper–whether for undergrad or grad school applications. I can also help students maximize their college admissions wow factor.
I scored perfectly on the SAT, ACT, PSAT, and GRE math sections. I've tutored dozens of students to perfect SAT or ACT math scores, taught Math Olympiad, and was on the state championship math team in high school.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Ive been working with Brooke for over six years, starting with my college application essays and SAT prep, and later through my PhD program applications. She has been a huge help throughout the whole process. One thing I really appreciate about Brooke is that she has very high standards. She encourages you to make your work better in a way that feels supportive and clear. On the writing side, she knows how to take your experiences and ideas and turn them into a strong, personal story that shows who you are and helps you stand out.She also has a really unique way of teaching. Whenever I was learning something new, whether it was for applications, essays, or SAT prep, she explained things in a way that made sense quickly. She is very efficient and always knows how to focus on what matters most. With her help, I was able to improve my SAT Math score from 740 to 800 in just one month. With Brookes help, I saw real success in both my applications and my SAT score. Im really grateful for everything she has done for me and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, honest, and effective mentor.

We worked with Brooke and she gave us all the strategies we needed to achieve the score that we needed. I highly recommend as we have tried other tutors and she was by far the most helpful.

SupertutorTV, has such a great team! With Brooke's guidance, my daughter successfully gained admission to an Ivy League. Brooke's expertise and personalized approach were invaluable during her applications process. Danny's tutoring was amazing. They both were able to determine where her gaps were and how best to handle it. I highly recommend anyone seeking top-notch tutoring to reach out to Brooke.

By the time I met Brooke Hanson, I sought guidance with essays over a period of time, from three local companies that advertise (including on the local Fox 5 News) how great they are, plus another company on the East Coast. I was discouraged every time and I always felt that there was something wrong in the way I was guided. I was directed to enumerate, narrate, I was advised to use what I felt to be banalities, I was given false reassurance instead of helpful feedback. I was advised against using what I thought is compelling about myself and what I wanted to express. Those tutors dragged me to reword or shorten the same simple phrases they initially approved for using, thus trying to charge more for editing time. They did not help with ideas because they did not have ideas, and because they did not vest themselves in the process. Please, watch out for companies that claim to be able to help, and never-ever- buy packages from them!Since deciding to work with Brooke, a weight of many months was lifted off my shoulders. She told me it is OK to convey my point, she was extremely efficient with her guidance. She is above and beyond knowledgeable and more updated than anybody else. There is an unbelievable dexterity in handling language that I admire about her. Additionally, when I prepaid for two hours, and she felt she could guide me in one hour, she sent me an email expressing that. Need I say what a joy a person like that can bring? Not only does she know her craft and provides proper guidance and great encouragement, but she is honest as well. Words cannot express what a difference she made. I can present those essays to the greatest schools knowing they are a reflection of who I am. There was a time when I really loved writing essays, then came a time when I was discouraged by self proclaimed college helpers. Now, I love writing essays again. I owe it all to Brooke. She is the absolute best!
