FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not consider my pricing structure complicated. I charge a minimum of $150.00 per service which represents an hour of time. Any additional time I break down into one tenth of an hour increments at the same rate. Funerals tend to cost more than weddings as they usually require much more preparation time in terms of meeting with the family so as to provide the best memories possible about the deceased to be delivered at the service.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. There are a variety of courses offered, both online and in person, to keep us abreast of changes and developments in the field. However, I learn the most from my clients and the events I perform for them. I always walk away from each service I perform with a new nuance to perhaps use in another service.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I worked as a mediator (helping others resolve their disputes outside of courtrooms) for many years and the joy I found from conflict resolution combined with increased spirituality as I reached middle age to lead me into this field. I enjoy meeting so many people and helping to make our rites of pasage even more meaningful.
