Marvin crew did amazing work. Everything was clean, accurate, and exactly as we wanted. Marvin went out of his way to match color to the one we had, sealed all the gaps, and worked around metal hardware leaving no paint marks on them.

Marvin was an absolute joy to have in my space for a few hours. Aside from being an extremely nice person, he does great work! He is professional, but friendly, very responsible, and a good problem-solvers. He came right on time, was very organized, works fast and finished exactly when he said he would. I really appreciated how he took such great pains to protect my floors and surrounding areas. After he finished, he carefully cleaned everything up and took the waste with him! I would certainly hire him in the future. If you hire Hills Painting you will definitely be in capable hands!

I contacted Hills Painting as they included plaster repair in their list of skills and I wanted to have the area around a ceiling vent repaired and repainted due to water damage. I also wanted a portion of the nearby ceiling repainted to cover what I thought was a water stain. I thought this might be too small of a job for a painting company, but Marvin agreed to take on the project. He and his cousin showed up this past Sunday and Marvin determined that it would be better to repaint the entire ceiling and the wall the vent was on due to the age of the original paint making paint color matching difficult. Once we agreed on the adjusted price, the cousin went to work repairing the area around the vent and Marvin left to buy the paint.

An hour later, the area around the vent was repaired and they set about painting the ceiling and wall. After two hours, they completed their work and I paid them. Unfortunately, about an hour after they left, it appears that the ceiling stain bled through the paint. I'm not a painter, but Googled possible remedies and it seemed that specific primers are made to cover stains, even mold and mildew. They returned the following day and applied three coats of what Marvin told me was alcohol based primer versus the water based primer that was used the day before. A day later, a much lighter stain still bled through, but when contacted again, Marvin wanted an additional charge to fix the remaining stain. Since they have to travel from South San Francisco to Los Altos, I decided to just hire a local handyman to completely cover the water stain. I'm pleased with the plaster repair and the painting of the wall and ceiling, but considering they are a painting company, I'm a bit disappointed that they couldn't completely cover a ceiling stain.

Josue and his team painted the entire interior of my home, including all the trim, crown molding, ceiling, and walls. He did a superb job, including painting a few extras, like an accent wall and my fireplace. He is a perfectionist and extremely knowledgeable about his trade. I would definitely work with him again!
