I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Wright Landscape and Design and Kimo! We hired them to lay all new mulch in our front and back yard. Everything from getting the estimate, to scheduling the actual project was all very easy and straightforward. Everyone was very nice and Kimo, who did the actual work, was fabulous! Our yard looks 100% better. Kimo went above and beyond and even trimmed back some bushes and we are so happy with how the project turned out. Thank you Wright Landscape!!

I had mulch added in the backyard and a number of plants in the front. Everything looked great and the men did work as expected. The price was very reasonable to say the least. They showed up on time and got right to work. Will hire again as I have another project coming.

Sod cutting and setup for drought resistance landscaping was quick and easy. Brad reached out within an hour of my request and we coordinated a site walk the same day. The work started 2 days later. He's works very quick and discusses his progress as he goes. He has also offered a lot of good advice on strategy and technique for further plans of laying fabric and elevation changes as well as sprinkler layout and suggestions for rock, mulch and path design. I will definitely work with Brad again on other projects as I go forward.

Absolutely terrible service. I asked for my yard to be weeded, covered in canvas, and then mulched. I got my yard weeded and mulched, but the canvas covering never came. I paid in advance because I had to go to work while the workers were taking care of my yard only to come home and see that the job I asked for was only half done. When I contacted Zarate and mentioned this, they kept saying "we'll stop by and give you a cash refund". I asked them several times when this would happen and continued to get no response. AVOID ZARATE! They basically took an extra $300 from me and are avoiding giving it back.

Agustin Beas completed his first time with us on April 4. He trimmed, pruned, mowed and edged and did exceptional work. He took about 3 hours and the clean up was impeccable. He will now come every 2 weeks to mow our small back lawn and do trimming only when necessary and do anything else I might ask like fix a sprinkler head in our front yard etc.

Did a great job ... mowed, edged, and swept up nicely. I'll be having him back to pull weeds and do a larger job. Very Professional

All Around the Garden installed drought tolerant landscaping for my front yard. They cleaned out the remnants of a dead lawn, installed a drip system, planted shrubs and ground cover and spread mulch. They did the whole job in one day at the start of a heat wave. I was worried that the heat would kill my new plants but all survived and are thriving four months later. The guys were easy to work with and they delivered what they promised.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have your lawn mowed?

Regular lawn maintenance can do wonders for your home’s curb appeal. Professional lawn care prices will vary based on the regional cost to do business and regional cost of labor, the size of your lawn, and any additional services you may desire such as edging or mulching. The national average for lawn mowing costs is $30-$50. Pros may charge an hourly rate, a flat rate or by the square foot (an acre contains 43,560 square feet). Square footage rates factor in the professional’s time, the use of their equipment, and the gas to operate the mower. Distance may also affect cost: If you live outside the company’s standard service range, you may pay an additional travel fee. Here are some examples of average prices for mowing and lawn maintenance:

  • Up to 8,000-square-foot property: $30 per week/$120 per month.
    • Bimonthly: $40 per service/$80 per month.
    • One time only: $45 per service.
      • Prices include mowing all turf grass areas; trimming grass away from fences, structures, trees, and lawn edges; and clearing or blowing all grass trimmings from driveways, sidewalks, curbs, etc.
  • Hourly rate: $25 per hour (including travel, equipment costs and labor).
  • Lot size:
    • Smaller lots in subdivisions: $35.
    • Half-acre lot: $50.
    • One-acre lot: $100.
