The Zion Academy of Music

Introduction: The Zion Academy of Music is a music education and performance school for grades K-12. We've been teaching young musicians since 1997. We offer both group and private lessons in strings, brass, woodwinds, guitar, percussion, electric bass, and musicianship and theory. We also offer private lessons in piano, voice, and drums. In addition, we offer choir and jazz ensemble programs. Our founder, Dumisani Washington, is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and has been teaching music for over 26 years. He has overseen the development of many young musicians, some of whom have gone on to study music at the university level. Zion Academy currently has alumni enrolled in music programs at universities, such as Abilene Christian University, Azusa Pacific, and the University of the Pacific. Each of the instructors at Zion Academy has been selected, because they share Dumisani's desire to develop a genuine love of music in the students. All of our instructors have active music careers, and many of our instructors have graduated from or are currently attending the University of the Pacific. Zion Academy is excited about being a vibrant part of Stockton's future. We look forward to training excellent young musicians and making beautiful music for years to come.
