First allow me to apologize for my late review as I haven't had my internet back up til now. And let me say that of all the things I could be doing having spent 4 weeks without the internet, the FIRST THING I DID was pull up my email so I can find a way to brag about how AWESOME DERRY AND ALIJIAH WERE as my movers! They were professional, fun, and they were patient and great with my kids whom just wanted to help (but possibly hendered the men at times!) But still they allowed them to join in the responsibilities here and there (like allowing them to help with their own toys! Lol), all while keeping them COMPLETELY SAFE at all times! They were such great guys! I wasn't even sure in the beginning if I was going to be able to tip them, and I was honest about that up front, and NOT ONCE was that a factor in their performance. In fact I believe Alijiah had said something like, "I'm here for you and your needs, and to make this job as easy on you, and as less stressful as possible. You don't even worry about a tip!" Of course that just wanted me to tip even more cuz he was so professional about it. And I was happy that end the end I could help the guys, cuz they did wonders for me. They made a difficult time easier to deal with. And since I suffer from debilitating rheumatoid arthritis, I was so relieved to get through that day in as little as pain as possible! I hope I never have to deal with moving again, but if I do I will ask for, and always recommend, Derry and Alijiah! Thanks, you guys! And Brandon Wilkinson, thank you too! Jamie in Yuba City
Summary: 1 bedroom move, SF to Walnut creek, total move time: 3 hrs + .5 hr return to bay bridge. Total cost: 377.50 (tip not included) I needed my one bedroom moved from SF to Walnut Creek. Items to be moved were: 1x bookshelf 2x 3-drawer dressers 1x standing desk 1x small dinner table 4x chairs 1x recliner 1x dresser 5x moving boxes 1x nightstand They were super flexible. Unbeknownst to me, my apartment has weekday moving hours starting at 10, and the movers were supposed to arrive between 9 and 10. When they arrived at 9:20, I explained that we would not have usage of the parking spot, or the elevator. They double parked on the street, laying out safety cones, and got started, using the stairs and moving items via elevator when necessary. The van was packed by 10:40, and on its way to Walnut Creek. After we arrived at ~11:15 (they arrived at the same time I did, no dallying), the unload took another 50 minutes or so, and we were done. Total charges: 3 hrs x $85 moving .5 hrs x $85 return trip $80 travel fee $377.50 total + additional tip. I expected only 3 hours, so it was a little more expensive than I had been hoping to pay (I didn't know movers wrapped things), but their flexibility and efficiency was worth it. I would hire Larro's again.
Steve the owner was great with his communication. They were fast, careful and efficient. Only thing I would recommend is if that British guy (one of the movers) would be nicer and more courteous. He was not that nice. Steve and the other guy was very accommodating and nice.
I was extremely impressed with Frank and his company "Moving with Caution and Care." My job moved me almost 100 miles away and I didn't receive much notice (about a month). Frank offered to do the job at a good price, even during a busy moving period. On the week of the move, we ran into a small snag with one of the mover's coming down with the flu. Frank was completely upfront and honest about it and let me know of the issue. He was able to move some of his guys around and still had my move taken care of the same day. I truly appreciate a business owner who is honest and flexible like this. On the day of the move, the 2 man crew showed up at our apartment with their truck. They started right away, packing our boxes and furniture in perfectly so it wouldn't shift. They covered all the furniture with furniture blankets and used straps to keep everything secure. They were really fast, loading the truck in just over an hour (and I have a lot of stuff). The best part, was the way the movers acted. They were very upbeat and extremely friendly. Oh, and this is the first time that I've hired movers where not one single item was damaged or scratched at all. If any of my friends in Sac are looking to hire movers, I'll be suggesting this company.
I hired harp for hanging art and moving love seat from sf to napa, my movers cancelled on me at last min on Sunday 23rd july. I found harp from Craigslist and he showed up in 30 min. When He brought love seat to napa I found I had a wrong key, he was at napa at 10 pm, it was my blunder but he really cool guy and offered his servicd to go back to sf and bringing a right key, we went back to sf and briougt right key. He also finished hanging art at my new apartment at midnight, he did not charge me either for extra driving to sf. ! What a cool guy. I am writing this review not only he is professional and know what he is doing but also he is a kind man
My original movers cancelled on us the day we were set to move. I called D&J moving that morning and they were at the house within 2 hours. Very responsive and saved the day! They were quick and meticulous about the job. Great people to work with. I would highly recommend them for any of your moving needs.
I highly recommend Ddt movers! They ensured our move went smoothly and didn't mind staying an hour longer because we had so much stuff and underestimated the time. It was really impressive to see how easy they made our move look! :-)
Fresh Start Movers will make your moving day a breeze. My move was a local move and was completed in one day. It started with talking to the owner (Kyle) who scheduled the move. I had to make a date change and also asked questions about the pricing and details of the move, he was very helpful and courteous in all conversations that I had with him. During the move, James and his team were the best. They showed up on time and ready to go. They completed the move within the time frame indicated and moved everything with care and professional efficiency. Totally polite and every mover had a great attitude and appeared to enjoy their work. One of the movers sang to himself while working and his apparent cheerfulness is contagious. Overall, this is a great company and I will definitely recommend to all my friends who move.
I had a great experience with these guys. They care about the quality of their work, and they have good hearts. The move was in a timely manner, reasonably priced, and with only 1% margin of error on damages (good for movers). I would highly recommend them.
This company provides a service to our community in helping local people move and giving those in need of assistance a job. The movers were on time, courteous and worked very hard to move us in Windsor.
We had a particularly challenging move, getting a washing machine out of a basement where the machine barely fit through the doorway and stairwell. The Leclair movers were careful to pad the glass portion of the washer to protect it and were persistent and found a way to get the washer out.
Did a local move from SF to Oakland and decided to go with My Move. Great service and movers. Lazaro, Jorge and Srdjan arrive on time and did a great job handling my items and navigating those tricky stairs. Would definitely use again.
I hired MP Movers (Marquiz) to assemble a 6 drawer IKEA dresser. He arrived right on time and was very polite. The dresser came in 3 different boxes which had to be moved downstairs to my daughter's room, which he did for me. He was so conscientious that at one point the instructions didn't match the materials and he brought this to my attention. He quoted me a flat fee and stuck to that. All in all, I couldn't have been happier and I will definitely hire MP Movers again. I highly recommend Marquiz and MP Movers.
Used Zhong Xin Moving Company yesterday and they were simply excellent. They arrived exactly on time and the 3 movers that came worked incredibly fast and took great care of protecting the furniture. During the whole move I didn't see them taking any breaks. They went up and down stairs with no complaint. It has been my best experience with a moving company. There are also no hidden costs. For 3 movers it was $120/hour + $20 for diesel. That's it, nothing else. I highly recommend using this company for efficiency, professionalism and a great price.
Best movers in Marin! I had a very very heavy table that needed to go upstairs. Nick and his crew did an amazing job on short notice and the entire experience exceeded my expectations.
The movers went to the wrong address and were 2 hours late to start. Afterwards I called James B. Moving about two items which I knew for a fact were not in any of my rooms at my new place, I was told that those items were placed in a section to go to the dump by accident and they would be returned to me. Now we have more missing boxes and I cannot get a return phone call and on the way to my new place I saw the movers pull off to the side of the freeway. Since there are no return calls I don’t know what to think except “ Be Extremely Careful who you hire” the references were vague at best.
I used Mulea at Bayside Moving and was extremely impressed. Having used multiple movers throughout the years, I had tempered expectations. However, this was the best moving experience I ever had. My job had a tight timetable so I built in a large buffer into my bid. Not only did Bayside come on time, they were early by 10 minutes! Their communication was supurb and texted the day before and also called before arriving. The driver worked fast and was really friendly throughout the move. They are a local Oakland based firm and it felt good to support a small business owner. We had a great experience with Sam. My boyfriend and I were in a bind with our piano - we needed to move it to another room in our apartment ASAP and discovered Saturday that it would be impossible without professional movers. I found Sam and he responded almost immediately (on a Saturday!) that he would be able to come the following day (a Sunday!). He was there on time with one other guy, and they did an excellent job wrapping up the piano, putting it on its side, and navigating it through our narrow San Francisco hallway and around corners to the other room. They were SUPER fast too - in and out in ten minutes! Overall we were very happy and would definitely hire them again. Thank you!!
