- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
New puppy visits are $150 for the initial 90 minute session. Followup training sessions (60 min) are $95. Initial visits for behavior modification are $175. Followup trainings sessions are also $95
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
They contact me via phone or email. I answer their initial questions and send them a history questionnaire to fill out. Once I have the questionnaire back, we set up an initial 90 minute introductory session. After that we do as many 60 minute training sessions as we need to in order to accomplish the goals the owner has for their dog.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely! Dog training and behavior modification is an ever evolving field. In the past 20 years, training has undergone a complete turnaround from force-based methods to reward-based methods. Reward-based training is backed up by rigorous scientific research done by both the dog training and veterinary behavior communities. As a veterinarian and a trainer, I attend national conferences for both dog trainers and veterinary behaviorists. I also read journals, attend webinars and have recently completed levels 1 and 2 of the Canine Behavior Academy at Marin Humane Society.
