- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, of course. I am notified by several agencies of new developments and/or any training they require, I then attend the training accordingly. Some things are self-educated. Things I can learn and practice myself as I find them in trade-related magazines, or as they come to me by word-of-mouth from fellow tradesman etc.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always enjoyed working outdoors & with my hands. Since the age of 16, I still have not held a customer-service, or food-establishment job yet. I've bounced from trade to trade, company to company, and honestly got sucked in to painting unintentionally. I took a job as a helper to a journeyman painter & the company he owned, as a temporary source of income while waiting for a plumbing company to hire me. Well, that position eventually opened, but I turned it down, and paint is where I stayed. I was / still am, fascinated with how much there really is to 'painting,' from application methods, to substrate knowledge, and the very technical side of "What, Where, When, How, & Why?" in regards to the thousands of paint-products available out there.
