About this pro

How does your service stand out?

My FREE quotes are really FREE. No kidding. As woman in the business of being a handyperson I stand out from the crowd. Many of my customers are women and feel more comfortable having me in thier homes. At the same time you can count on me to be reliable, competent and get the job done right. I will leave your home or business clean and ready for use when I am done with the job, so you will not have to also call a cleaning company after getting repairs done by me.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

Knowing that my customers are happy with my work and having a great collection of regular customers who keep me busy all year round. I love working with my hands and especially enjoy the fact that almost all the work I do has the sort of results you can actually SEE when done. Such as painting, gardening, changing light fixtures, hanging pictures or window dressing. It's awesome to look at the change I am able to create!

Cass is the most hardworking, honest and reliable worker one can hire . She is very pleasant and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend her to others and will not be looking for anyone else in the future for all my jobs. It was a pleasure to hire her.

Cass showed up the next business day after contact and on time, estimated her time to complete the job, completed the job on time, prepared the area so well that I didn't have to move anything, and left the area clean and intact, as she found it. Magical. Quality-Cost-Schedule all met. I am SUPER pleased with her work and would hire her again AND recommend her to friends. Cass is a charming, energetic, and trustworthy person.

Cass mounted a heavy mirror for me. Our walls are covered with thick stucco and given the distance between studs, we couldn't hang it securely without her help. She did a great job, and the mirror hasn't budged for over 3 months now!

This is my third time booking Cass, but surely will not be my last! She is always prompt, efficient, fair and reasonably priced. As a single mother, I felt more comfortable and secure engaging the services of a handyWOMAN since I would be home alone when repairs needed to be made. Each time I called on Cass, she provided me with several options of how to proceed with the job. If you're looking for one of the last truly honest and efficient services out there, call The Fix it Lass!

Cass the fix-t lass came and assessed the situation with my toilet within a half hour, she returned and fixed it promptly the next morning and well, I should've called her a month ago!! Great service, she's working up a quote on some other things for me and I'm sure we'll move ahead with those things as well. She's also a lot of fun to talk to so that makes life pleasant, too.

What a great lass! Hard working and very reliable! She built a 120 bottle wine cabinet. Cut the wood, wax finish, nail gun, etc. It looks beautiful! She is very handy with both power tools and hand tools. She replaced the valves in a leaky faucet and also repaired a light fixture that has been broken for over 10 years. She even found and dealt with the contractor for the installation of a new furnace, including the paperwork for a tax credit! Most important of all, The Fix It Lass is trustworthy. I highly recommend her!

Cass, the fix it lass, is such a GREAT handywoman. I love working with her because it's like a partnership. You can trust her and she is very conscientious about getting the job done right. She'll help you solve a small problem or a big one and she'll get the job done quickly!

After years of putting it off, I hired The Fix It Lass to professionally organize my closet. This involved removing bags of clutter, stray items for Goodwill, and putting things back in better order. Having a professional, impartial party to help made the job fast and easy. It's been several months and every day I'm still thankful to have the use of a better space. The Fix It Lass was friendly, prompt, and hard working. She gave me tips for future upgrades and I'll definitely call her when time & funds become available for this or other home projects. Definitely recommend! A++

Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
I charge by the hour and offer free estimates of how long I expect the specific projects to take.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Who is Cass the Fix It Lass? After years of unsatisfying work in the corporate world I was let go, and not sure what to do next. I visited a life coach who suggested, based on interests and passions I had expressed to her, that I should start my own handywoman business. It made perfect sense, everything that got me fired up involved DIY, home improvement and repairs, or gardening, and those interests were the perfect start for offerings to clients.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Hang pictures, assemble furniture, hang curtains/blinds/window treatments, replace light switches and plug outlets, install ceiling fan, change light fixture, small wall repairs, earthquake securing, small painting jobs, changing or installing smoke detectors. Gardening, hardscapes, hose repairs.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make a list of things to have your handyperson look at when they are there. Get the most from the visit by combining little jobs in one trip. Let the handyperson know in advance all the items you would like to address during thier visit so they allow for enough time and bring any tools or such that may be specific for that task.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Often my customers are almost apologetic that they aren't handy themselves or seem to feel as if they ought to know how to do something they have hired me to do. Everyone has different things they do well and if everyone were 'handy' no one would ever need to hire me!! So please don't feel bad about not knowing how to fix the door knob I am happy you need my assistance and I love my work. Each of you probably have talents or skills that I do not, such as being artistic or speaking other languages, etc (I could make a VERY long list, trust me!).
