Introduction: Ni Hao. My name is Xiao I am a certified teacher of Mandarin Chinese language with more than 10 years teaching experience. For more than 7 years of my career I was teaching Mandarin Chinese as a foreign language for students from all over the world. I also taught Mandarin dialect for TV and Radio hosts in MeiShi Film academy of Chongqing University- top University in China. Many of my students are currently employed by National TV and Radio companies all over the world. Before working as a Teacher in Chongqing, I was teaching Mandarin Chinese as a foreign language for Italian students in Pisa, Italy as a Volunteer teacher of Confucius institute. Through all these years I’ve developed a set of techniques which allows to learn “such a difficult language” in simple and fun manner. I love learning new languages myself. I personally think there is nothing difficult in language learning process and with the right guidance Chinese could be as easy as any other language.

I've been with Xiao for about 1+ years now and it's been the best experience for me in improving my Chinese. I was referred to her by a friend of mine with whom I had taken Chinese lessons with before and we both felt our Chinese levels improve within a month of starting with her! When I started with her, my Chinese was at a perhaps beginner-intermediate level and now I've gotten to a much higher point after having worked with her on reading, writing, and speaking! In the last year, we worked on what I struggled with the most which tended to be vocabulary and adding to my list of new words, so she worked with me to build up all of my nouns and verbs. After that, it varied from reading short stories to reading following lessons in a textbook that I had purchased before from Taiwan. My weakest has definitely been reading and remembering words, but she has worked with me so patiently and diligently to increase my vocabulary and my grammar that it's reached a good level! She always pinpoints exactly what I need to work on and makes sure that it's corrected every time! I've genuinely improved so much in this 1 year of being with her and I encourage everyone interested to start learning with her!

Xiao is a multifaceted and exceptional teacher! She really pushes and encourages you to learn in a progressive and fun manner. Xiao’s education plan was structured and custom tailored to my needs, I never felt like a lesson went to waste. Before attending Xiao’s class I was going to a mainstream Chinese school and it was definitely harder to learn because the programs were too standardized. Xiao’s classes really targeted my weak points while continuing her lesson plan. As an adult learner, its a challenge to balance work and classes. Xiao was always really flexible with her schedule and she provided fair rates. If you’re in the west LA area, I’d absolutely recommend Xiao as a teacher!

I had zero experience in Chinese. While planning my trip to China I have decided to take a few classes just to be able to get some food and find my way. Nancy helped a lot with a basic understanding of the language structure. I'm far from being able to speak perfect Chinese, but at least I can understand very basic. A didn't believe it is possible to do in such a short term, but here I am. The sad part is I had to cancel my trip to China due to Covid19, but that just means that I have more time to practice with her. I highly recommend her as a teacher!

Xiao is a fantastic language instructor. Her knowledge, teaching skills, and passion for the subject are amazing. As we have worked through the curriculum there is a constant depth of detail that her teaching provides to the lessons that is difficult to compare to anything else. She knows where students commonly get stuck and how to move them forward. I offer 1 free class for 10 classes paid. but it is also ok to pay class by class for those who wants more flexibility.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first evaluate my students. depending on the level, we could apply strategies to achieve your goals. if you start from zero, our lessons will be divided into few parts: vocabulary, conversation and grammar. Be sure that our lessons will be fun!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified by Confucius institute to teach Chinese as a second language.
