I've had the pleasure of managing music artists who have utilized Ardent Audio Productions over the past seven years. At least yearly, one of the artists has recorded in the studio. I have always been impressed both with the quality of the equipment in the studio as well as the feedback that Rich provides to artists. He has an incredible 'ear' for music and is able to quickly provide feedback and constructive advice. I will certainly continue to use Ardent Audio Productions in future projects.

I have had a professional relationship with Rich since 1987 or so when he produced and arranged my first album, "The Story Of A Wayward Strange", originally released in Mar. 1988. We are currently recording the finishing touches on my new album, Produced, Arranged and Recorded by Rich Wenzel at Ardent Audio Productions in Torrance, CA., titled "Songs From The Second Sessions". My advantage with Rich directing this project is the talent that he has at his disposal, within himself and from the professional musicians he has worked with throughout his career, that has given me a brilliant recording that far exceeded any of my expectations. Ardent Audio is an up to date, state of the art, Digital Recording Studio with a large rehersal area, in a great location, convenient parking, a clean and professional environment. I obviously can't say enough good things about my experiences working with Rich on my recordings. After this is completed....we'll work on the next album....and the next. I brought in a project that involved 9 musicians recording live all at the same time. It included: acoustic piano/celeste, stand up bass, guitar/banjo, drums, violin, 2 x reed and one brass players plus a singer. The group performs 1920s and 30s music and usually does about 4-5 takes per song. Down beat started at 11:00am and we went to 5:15pm and recorded 6 songs, all live at the same time. I can't say enough about how great and smooth the experience was, but I will try... The owner/engineer was fully prepared on arrival. All mics and baffeling were set along with individual monitor devices for each musician. Which he did not charge me for!!! The spaces were cool clean and comfortable, he has two good size rooms. We separated the horns and singer from rest of band. I've produced 7 CDs with the artist and have engineered many music events and know when the engineer is on top of things. He was attentive, nice and I did not have to worry about mics or placement. He was also very good on communicating with band on tracking readiness and a few fixes. He has a great upright piano (very sweet tone) plus grand piano. Plus he had assistantans run for food and help with little things. Very reasonable rate for the room size and professionality of his service and equipment. Tracking went great and everything sounds good. I highly reccomend this studio!!! Rob

i recorded a freestyle and i paid for an hour. Good location, great service. Next time i'm going, i will bring a sample of how i want my finished project to sound.The producer, Rich Wenzel was welcoming and it's very likely i will work with him again.
