FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I love writing and editing. It is easy for me, always has been, and it fills me with a great feeling of accomplishment to know a work has gone from embryonic to fully formed. I show up in the chrysalis stage and find it not only marvelous and wondrous when a butterfly comes out, but truly grateful that I was a part of that process.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
All ages and all levels of experience. Students, elementary school through post graduate school.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you have a good feeling about the person you will be working with. This includes first, second, and third impressions. Be very clear about how closely you will you have to work with them, for how long, and from what distance (it's important to remember that long-distance communication can be emotionally taxing, especially when one is very personally invested in the work, as with stories, novels, and scripts. Continually reevaluate the working relationship. What seemed like a good fit at the beginning may begin to chafe at some point; do not feel shy about discussing your concerns with the provider you have chosen, and do not be reluctant about complaining if the work you are being provided is not what you want, even up to the point of deciding not to work with your current provider.
