I had contracted Alfredo for painting the exterior of my house. His quote was not only reasonable (his quote was in the middle of the 3 quotes I received) but the work performed was very high quality as well. I was impressed by the fact that although the actual painting took just about a day he spent almost the entire next day on the finishing and touch ups. Once the job was complete he walked around the house with me to make sure I was completely satisfied and the job was performed to my satisfaction. Overall I would highly recommend Alfredo for any painting related work, not only for the quality but for his attitude as well. I am hoping to use him again soon for some carpentry work, which he has indicated he is able to perform as well.

Great work with the interior painting of our house, they were on time, cleaned up after the job, and they were good about locking up the place when we weren't home by the end of the day. I highly recommend saints of paint.

AMAZING!! Working with Jeff and his team was the best choice we made. No need to shop around. Jeff Carnie is your man. He transformed our 13 year old kitchen cabinets from plain and regular to stunning. 3 of our neighbors already want to hire him and you should too. Jeff really goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy and satisfied. He is very easy to reach and willing to accommodate you at all cost. The same can be said of his team. He also painted all three of my kids’ rooms and our large bonus room. He did some custom work and did an ombre wall in one of my kid’s rooms. His professionalism and personalization with the job was so refreshing. We did extensive remodeling and updating in our previous home and I can honestly say that this experience with Jeff has been one of the greatest. Not only in terms of quick turnaround times but his respect for your time and your home. Here are the expectations that Jeff brought up before starting the project. The end result is all in the prep. Jeff masked off my entire kitchen like it was being contained for a disease. He was not kidding when he said he was going to cover the entire kitchen. Make sure you know what sanding a door really means. We had our cabinets re-done in our last home and we noticed the difference in quality and look when a proper prep and re-surface is actually done. Expect some heavy dust - prepare accordingly for that. We had 5 different painters come to the house and bid on the project. Jeff was not the cheapest but in the end, I think his detailed work and customer service sets him apart. He is worth every penny. We definitely feel that we made the right decision and we are extremely happy with the end results. One of the key points that I feel I need acknowledge when working with Jeff. He is very very respectful of your time. He always arrived earlier than when he said he was. I noticed that the very first day he came to bid on the project and every day he come in for work. Responsive. Easy to communicate with. Punctual. It's always intimidating in the beginning to hire someone you don't know to do a job but it's such a blessing and a relief when you find someone who does a fantastic job. I highly recommend him!

Moreno painting is one of the best painters I've ever used they did an awesome job both for the exterior and interior of our house. Sure you can get a cheaper painter elsewhere for a mediocre job, however with Moreno painting you get exactly what you pay for they are excellent. I have a very critical eye when it comes to detail, I would highly recommend them to friends and family. Another factor is that they came on time when they say they would and they didn't dilly dally while on the job. They finished the job well before the allotted time. Don't waste your time looking for a better painter.

I have used Steve Fine multiple times because of his attention to detail, wide range of knowledge, and friendly personality. He has painted the exterior and interior of my house in Blue Lake Springs. As well, he refinished my cedar ceilings and cabinets. Every job has turned out better than I expected.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

    • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
    • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
    • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
    • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
