First: Dennis was present everyday work was done; if he wasn't present all day, he got the workers started and checked in several times, as well as at the end of the day. Second: Dennis and his workers were careful to clean up any mess every day. Third: Dennis presented blueprints of what he planned to do, and discussed them with us. Fourth: when we were unable to find fixtures, Dennis went out of his way to assist us.
Be sure you know how much storage you want, and clearly communicate that. My husband and I didn't communicate with one another very well, and I was surprised at the end. I freaked out, but was able to have Dennis replace one cabinet with a larger one. The cabinet Dennis removed is great for storage in our garage.
Final assessment: my kitchen is far more than I'd ever dreamed of having: the cabinets are easy to keep clean, the quartz counters/backsplash are marvelous to work on/clean.
As with any construction project, things don't always proceed perfectly. We traveled out-of-state for funerals; and there were holidays during which we were happy to have work suspended. In other words: Life happens.
I regard Dennis as a reliable, ethical, and skilled contractor. We have just asked to discuss remodeling our master bath with him.
