I'm a new homeowner in Oakland and needed an engineers help with drafting my floorplan for bathroom addition permits. I decided to hire individual contractors without paying the fees of a General Contractor. Oh did I get lucky to have found Mike who not only provided excellent service in drafting but also offered his expertise on design and construction. Mike assisted with my brainstorming and troubleshooting process beyond what I had expected. He was knowledgeable about city regulations and offered sound advice on where to locate fixtures. I appreciate working with Mike to jumpstart the project and would highly recommend him for drafting and engineering services.
Serena is incredible! She designed our office space and it is so nice we have had people ask for pictures so they can try and get a similar design. Serena has such a skill for making dynamic, bright, warm, and comfortable spaces. She is quick to respond, stays within budget, and listens to feedback completely. She helped us create a vision for our space and then went above and beyond for it - like giving us multiple floor layouts for more employees as we grow. She even did all of the ordering for me and readily had a handyman and painter available to do all of the installation and painting for the space. I just had to look at designs and make decisions. Truly an effortless and incredible process. Every person that saw our office space before has been in awe of the new space. If anyone is looking for an interior designer I will 100% recommend Serena first. And if we ever move offices I know who I am calling immediately!
Jubal and Grant were both incredible to work with! The communication from JDID on our project was exceptional and we were able to collaborate to finish our CAD drawings in the agreed upon time. While JDID noted at our initial consultation that their company usually handles large projects with big accounts they treated our small endeavor with the utmost professionalism and attention. We will definitely return to JDID to seek further services as we grow our business.
Jeff is hied by our company at the last minute notice, for a 4 story, 20,000 square foot condominium new construction design project in San Francisco. He is extremely patient and talented, energetic and efficient. I am very impressed with his skill of using the modern technology with all the most updated software, computer aided design tools. That will greatly increase the accuracy and choices, especially in such a complex scale. Jeff is also familiar with all the application process of obtaining planing permit, building permit and conditional use permit. He read PPA and Ruben design committee comments very carefully, implemented line by line, yet in the mean time, watching out for the owner's interest like a lawyer. We have dealed with many big name professionals in San Francisco before we reach this point, Jeff has the skill all in one, and has the unbeatable speed since he is light and mobile, comparing to the cumbersome organization that answers your phone call with a secretary. After we gain the planning permit, we will most likely to continue to heir him for the building permit process, since he is an excellent communicator, to integrate the design with Machanical engineers, civil engineers, structural engineers. We believe he is the one for us.
I had Mary mock up a 3D model of a kitchen and bath remodel we did at the start of the year. She was very quick, and the model was exactly what we were looking for to understand what the design would look like, and to pull plans off of. She provided several views and a short video walkthrough of the space in 3D, and then accompanying plans and sections. She also went back and forth with us to edit the model/design to get exactly what we wanted. If I ever do any other work to my house, I will contact her.
Great person, great service!
Tom and the team at Monster Design Company are an amazing creative resource to us. Their painstaking attention to detail, their storytelling capacity and creative energy the bring to each and every project regularly exceeds expectations. I have returned to them time and time again for consistent results.
I worked with Marika directly on the design of our new office space in SOMA. I was truly impressed with her professionalism and communication as well as her ability to really work with and tailor her ideas and vision creatively to our budgets. She also has exceptional design sense- and was able to understand and deliver on what we wanted without letting her own aesthetic sense rule the direction of the project. I would definitely work with her again and highly recommend her!
Bob has been a pleasure to work with so far. Our project is not yet done.
Brandon was very professional, provided outstanding design concepts, and managed every aspect of the project. I highly recommend Brandon and Wenzelwerk.
Collected Studio did a great job on paint color selections for our Commercial building, gave us 3-5 color schemes to choose from and was very attentive and helpful.
David designed our kitchen, dining room, bathroom and living room. In short, David is a design genius with small SF spaces. His design solutions are practical, creative and aesthetically pleasing. David is also very good at selecting paint color, floor color, and all kitchen surfaces. David is budget conscious and was willing to mix in IKEA elements into our kitchen (cabinet boxes) but also use custom cabinet doors. Lastly, David is also an excellent marriage counselor at no extra cost...
George is a very talented designer who takes pride in his work. He has excellent communication skills, is collaborative and reliable. George listened carefully to understand our vision and created a great product.
Excellent design/build shop. They are very good at what they do. You will pay for it, but you also get what you pay for with home remodels.

My sister and I are both working together as interior designers, and we are based in San Francisco. We began our career prior to obtaining a master's degree in interior architecture and design at Academy of Art University. Since then, we always look for quality, creativity, and style plus putting a close attention to the details. After the graduation, we have started working as independent designers in the Bay Area. It gives us a chance to assist our clients in choosing appropriate materials, functional design and effective use of space in order to translate their ideas tastefully into a successful design.
In a world of complexity, CG DESIGN provides a sobering bit of joy in service, design, and smiles.
Have a cool idea for a new product or gadget you want to make? I can help you take it from start to finish, by: 1) refining and assessing feasibility of your concept, 2) designing, prototyping, testing, and iterating your design, and 3) sourcing manufacturers to make it and potentially mass produce it. I have extensive experience in medical device, automotive, and consumer electronic product design, and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Resume is available upon request.

Below is a summary of my educational background: * Master of Architecture, University of California, Berkeley, 1971 * Bachelor of Science in Psychology, University of Wisconsin, Madison, 1967 * Intern and Guide, Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio, Oak Park, 1964 * Oak Park and River Forest High School, Oak Park, Illinois, 1963 I offer full design services which include site planning, schematic design, design development, construction drawings and services related to construction. My projects range in size from kitchens and baths to whole-house remodels including additions and new houses. Most are within the Bay Area, and most of these are within San Francisco itself, where I live. I usually do not accept work outside these areas. I have had over thirty years of experience working on design solutions that, first and most importantly, please my clients but which are, secondly, well received by the close-by neighbors, which is a key to thirdly, easier and faster acceptance by San Francisco's planning department (including the zoning administrator, in case a variance is involved). Although I have had a very high percentage of variance applications for clients that are approved, I also try to design to avoid having a variance be necessary, avoiding variances when possible. I am happy to explain more, show previous projects, etc. at an initial meeting at no charge. My clients appreciate how my designs can be either traditional (more contextual) or modern, depending on the context. My designs tend to mature into built projects that have manners and which are gracious good neighbors which co-exist easily with other older nearby houses. They have also been characterized as having curb appeal and are usually well received by neighbors for that very reason. A historic prototype is often helpful in grounding a design and instilling it with historic precedent as well as enhancing its wider appeal. On the interiors, I strive for light-filled and volume spaces, the use of materials including wood, synthetic stones and veneer plaster, and reasonably sized kitchens and baths. Lately, I have been designing green solutions using photovoltaic panels on the roofs and, if south facing, rear elevations in steel and glass, not being as restricted there nearly so much at the front, usually the public or street side, of the design.
