"I have been working as a tutor for the last eight years. I began tutoring when I was a resident of Mexico, living first in the town of San Miguel de Allende where I tutored French and then in Guadalajara where I prepared student clients for the TOEFL exam.
Since returning to the United States in 1212, I have been tutoring English with clients reached through WyzAnt, Thumbtack and Bright Bird Tutoring.
I am qualified by WyzAnt to tutor ESL and to prepare students for the English parts of the ACT, GED, SAT and TOEFL.
I have also worked with clients having problems with all aspects of English Arts in elementary, middle, and high school. I have worked with intermediate and advanced English students needing to improve their business English, last fall conducting extemporaneous English sessions at SAP, San Ramon, California. I have also taught beginning English to a class of junior foremen at the Urban Company in San Rafael.
My latest qualification is a certificate as a dyslexia tutor.
For the last two years, I have been a reading/writing tutor for the Solano County Literacy Program. I have also worked as a walk-in tutor at both of the Vallejo public libraries. I recently passed the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST), which could lead to my being certified as a substitute teacher in the California State Education System.
Besides U.S. citizens and residents, I have worked with clients from China, Japan, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Lithuania, Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Bolivia, and Colombia."
