If you are a property owner thinking of hiring this company for your soft story seismic retrofit - BE CAREFUL! It took them 3 months to complete my mother-in-law's building and with several change orders that costed her 60% higher than their initial bid. They will just rip you off and will just jump from one project to another leaving you and your tenants exposed to dust and dirt without parking for months. They have a really "big mouth" and will try to convince you - don't fall for it! 2 stars because after a few months of wait and so much extra at least the project was not left incomplete and didn't end up in court. Do your homework before you trust them with your building.

I never write reviews because I simply don't have the time. But when it comes to Weinstein Construction I am actually happy to write a review as a simply way of repaying them for their extraordinary service, in all regards. As many readers may already know, in the field of real estate development and investments it is rare to find a company that is professional in every way and ethical in their business dealings. I have been in real estate investment and construction since 1986 and owned and built numerous projects big, small, old and new. I first met Mr. Weinstein back in 2012 when we learned that a 1922 10 unit apt building had a failing foundation. I found Weinstein's quote to be the most reasonable and equally important the Weinstein team performed on time with respect to defining the scope of work, preparing drawings, obtaining permits, working around unexpected obstacles and finishing on time. I have engaged Weinstein for additional work and I have since recommended Weinstein to business associates who have had an equally good experience. If you hire Weinstein you will likely find yourself writing a positive review, just like me, as a way of repaying Weinstein Construction for the quality of their work and all around service.

Weinstein Construction recently completed earthquake retrofitting our home; a 107 year old, two story house in Long Beach. We are very pleased that our home is now securely bolted to the new foundation! We chose Weinstein Construction for after researching a number of retrofit contractors. Each professional, knowledgeable Weinstein employee we met clearly had the desire to offer us a good product. This gave us confidence in their ability to produce the best possible result. Weinstein Construction always responded to our questions and worked hard to accommodate our changing availability schedule. When we finally were ready to begin construction, Weinstein was able to start work and continued without interruption until completion. Our project completed in advance of the required deadline, for the contract amount and there were no change orders.Weinstein crews were polite, well managed and respectful as they worked around someones home. Their trucks were self-contained, carrying crew and all necessary tools and equipment to complete their work. Our project supervisor kept us informed about each days progress. There was sincere effort to minimize dust and disruption that comes from this kind of construction work. At the end of each day, our job site was left clean and properly secured.We have a new, safe foundation for our old home and are very happy that we choose Weinstein Construction for this work! We highly recommend them to anyone considering earthquake retrofitting their home.
