- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
First lesson is free! $35 for a half hour lesson, $50 for forty-five minutes and $65 for an hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If the student is new to music/piano, we jump right into learning. If the student has studied piano before, I figure out where they are and what they know about music. I check their rhythm, pitch reading, sight reading, musical terms, familiarity with the piano and I ask them to play something for me. We talk about what music the student likes and what they would like to learn from lessons. After gathering this information, I begin to plan out a direction that the lessons will take.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've studied for years with private teachers and then with established concert pianists as well as university professors. I have taken college music theory and ear training courses and been the accompanist for numerous choirs, both youth and professional.
