I have taken piano lessons from Ms. Zarema for a number of years. She is very knowledgeable, patient and kind, but at same time strict about setting the right foundation of piano playing: making sure my posture and hand position were proper. Ms. Zarema provides opportunities for all her students to participate in a class recital which is held twice a year, as well as participation in music festivals. In addition, I was able to take part in the Certificate of Merit test for a number of years, and each time progressing to a more advanced level. I have played some very beautiful and fun pieces, some of which, I can play by heart to this day if I were to sit down. I would highly recommend going to Ms. Zarema for lessons, she is patient and can teach anyone willing to learn! If I desire to take more piano lessons in the future I would sure go back to Ms. Zarema.

My two boys have learned about the piano craft with Teacher Zarema for over 10 years. They both received the advanced certification with the California Music Teachers Association’s certification program. Zarema is a very experienced piano teacher and I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn how to play piano well!

Zarema gets results. Thanks to her, my older boy performed well in piano and theory exams on a yearly basis through high school. Both of my boys write music and are musical, thanks to the years of foundational work wirh Zarema.

All my three older boys have been taking lessons from Ms. Zarema. We started with her 6 years ago. My youngest is looking forward to starting with her in a year when he turns 7.

I took lessons from Ms. Zarema for 6 years during junior high and high school and I would highly recommend her as a piano teacher. Her skill on the instrument is incredible - even the hardest pieces I played, she was able to sight read with excellence. Her ability to teach is likewise. She was able to communicate techniques so that I understood them, and she utilized creative drills and practice tools to help me get sounds from my head to my hands. I think she analyzes students and communicates in the way they best understand. Ms. Zarema blends rigor and fun appropriately - certainly classical repertoire was a focus, but she did a good job of sprinkling in some jazz, ragtime, and even one or two film scores. She is very supportive of your own musical interests (as long as you speak up about them), and is willing to help out with your personal projects as well. I think Ms. Zarema taught me not only to play the piano, but also to enjoy playing.
