Very pleased to have found Robert (who goes by Bert) - We have recently downsized and find ourselves with too many pieces to hang, yet most have special meaning to us. Bert helped me decide what to hang where without pressure, as he pointed out the size/colors in each piece. We have more to hang, so I look forward to working with Bert at Align Art again.
Wow! Bert was amazing and has such a wonderful, professional, consultative style. We do not have an eye for these things but want our home to look aligned with any artwork we choose. He comes ready for everything. If you are considering any sort of artinstallation or even just simple frames on the wall, highly recommend!!

I would highly recommend Bert to anyone who needs to hang their artwork. We just recently moved into a downsize home with large art and sculptures that need to a new 'home' in our smaller space. Not only did Bert thoughtfully arrange and place so many of our pieces, some of those pieces were large and heeavy - he had no problem installing them and was very considerate of what we were trying to do. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing starts with a $150 first hour minimum charge. This includes design consultation, curation as well as helps pay for travel time, fuel and hardware expenses. Every hour following is $85 per hour billed in 15 minute increments.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BFA School of the Art Institute Chicago, 7 years in fine art fabrication, worked for elite level art installation companies in San Diego, Chicago, Seattle, New York, certified custom mount maker, worked in/for The Parrish Art Museum, The California Center for the Arts, SDMA, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Asian Art Museum, Washington State History Museum, along with many others, extensive interior design and construction background
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Growing up in Southern California the son to a contractor and interior designer, I spent a large portion of my childhood on job sites, watching people work to build spaces from nothing. Applying siding to framed walls, like putting flesh over bone. This created a rich curiosity about process and how things get made. That fascination has followed me into adulthood and set the tone for much of my life.
I graduated from The School of the Art Institute Chicago highly trained in art history, curatorial studies, spatial design, and museum practices and looking for a career that I could use my skillset, I found art installation. With over 10 years working in the fine art world, my breadth of experience provides me with a holistic vantage point when installing artwork. I love working closely with my clients to create a tailored aesthetic suited to their needs.
