About
I have a true passion for what I do and I believe it comes through in the way I train. I know dog... From the shyest to the most aggressive, they respond favorably to me. But also, I am a people person. The key to reaching our goals is that the dogs' owners have the ability to replicate my interactions with the dog in order to maintain the results they desire. That's were my 24/7 support comes in. I say It all the time....I Love seeing a dog "blossom" ...It's so rewarding seeing the process of a dog shedding it's negative challenges, gaining confidence, and becoming the pup it was intended to be.

My husband and I needed some help taming our wild beast, and by wild beast I mean our 7 pound Chiweenie. We had had it up to our eyeballs with his barking and leash aggression. My husband and I had different schools of thought about dog training, so whomever we chose was going to have to train us all, not a easy fete. From the first session, we knew that Todd would be up to the challenge. He actually took the time to listen to our concerns about our little boy, and was most sensitive to our thoughts and feelings about dog training. He was very clear from the beginning about what he felt needed to be done and what part we had to play in it. He was also very clear from the beginning that the training would not be sustainable if we did not avidly participate with our "homework" between sessions. He has helped us turn 7 pounds of spaz into a sweet and respectful member of the family. We can now take him out on walks without worrying about leash aggression and have even started taking him hiking!! This very morning he actually let a small child pet him(he was not at all a fan of children). We thoroughly enjoy his company now and are excited to continue to watch him blossom under Todd's direction. Todd is kind, compassionate, professional, and demonstrates a genuine love of animals and a commitment to successful training. He will be our "family" trainer from here on out!! Cannot recommend him enough!

Thank you Kaila! We enjoyed having Rex for the time we did. Potty training, puppy 101 behavior, and puppy environmental socialization are so important as a pup matures. You are so smart to begin these processes before any indication of behavior modification needs. Give a dog (and you :) the tools before he needs them..well done!

My initial experience with Todd could not have gone better. His bedside manner and vison for training dogs and engaging with their owners is intelligent, empathetic and reassuring. I have absolutely no reservations turning the education of our much-loved pup over to Todd.

We're working with Todd to reinforce training with our adopted german shepherd puppy Zoey and to help her - and us - work with her anxiety issues. Immediately, Zoey took to Todd, and we could see that Todd really understood her - both as the breed and an individual puppy. Todd has given us some really helpful tips to practice after our training sessions, and we have noticed great improvements in Zoey! Todd is amazing! We call him the dog whisperer - it's truly wonderful to see how he connects with Zoey and his insights are invaluable. If you need someone who is caring, knows what he's doing, respects your puppy, and responds quickly to your emails/calls/texts, Todd is your person.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Most of the time people misinterpret dog behavior because it's our nature to view them through human eyes. So it makes it imperative for me to actually see the dog before I can diagnose the problem. I've been called in before for two puppies being aggressive when they were just playing and wrestling. And most of my behavior solutions are counter intuitive to what we do with other humans, but that's because I'm teaching them to "listen" to what the dog is saying.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    A. Make sure you are comfortable with the training method the trainer uses and that they have a firm grasp of canine behavior. If they misread a dog's body language, they could prescribe the wrong plan of action for you & your dog(s). Also, if you aren't comfortable with the trainer & his methods, you won't follow through & consistency is necessary for success with your dog(s)!
