Hired on Thumbtack

G & G Maintenance was hired to complete many tasks around the house prior to my move in, items that came up at inspection. Paul hung ceiling fans, checked out the electrical wiring, installed GFI units where necessary, switched out all outlets and plates to white, installed a can light above the vanity, checked out plumbing issues and installed new kitchen faucet and shower head. Paul is capable of handling almost if not all of your needs. He keeps you informed of the job status and when he is on site. This communication was crucial to me as I was unable to be on site most of the time he was working. His reviews were a large part of why he was selected to complete my jobs and I hope this one is helpful when selecting yours.

Paul did a wonderful, professional job. He replaced the kitchen faucet, installed a new shower head, and replaced the shower valve. Everything was quoted beforehand and work was performed on schedule. Would recommend!

On time, completed all work plus something else I asked him to do, gave me a price at the start and stuck to that price. Fixed the back liner in a closet that has been bugging me for years! Cleaned up after he was done, pleasant man. Asked him to take on several other projects this month.

Had mutual difficulty to make our schedules work however it was worth the wait. Determination of G&G to repair the problem was superior and their workmanship was excellent. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

each project and customer is unique. every project carries its own set of requirements and nuances, to perform, to bring full satisfaction to each of our customers. our pricing is based on what we may find durring a consultation. there are usually a set of baseline prices. however, there are usually addition conditions that arise during our visit that adjustments in our pricing are required. thats why, as a standard, we request that we come visit the potential job site to descuss the project in person. only then, can we price appropriately based on what we find and based on the needs of each individual.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

In my experience with contractors and builders, I have noticed that most of the time they have gotten so big that they don't have that attention to detail that they might have had in the past, Too many times i have had to "keep an eye on them" to keep them on task and to do the job as it was requested. In my opinion, that is a lot for a customer/client to have to do to hire someone at such a steep price. perhaps I'm just particular that way. But shouldn't everyone? I decided that, with my experience, a picky customer should have a picky repair specialist working for them. Not just someone whose favorite line is "that's good enough" and then have to pay the overpriced bill at the end. Well that's when i decided that I could do the same job, and better, in most cases, at a price that wouldn't make the customer broke.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently filled in as skilled labor for a home improvement show pilot called Home for Good. Tasks included furniture moving, demolition, fan installations, new light fixture installations, light fixture replacements, cabinet repair, debris removal, construction site clean up, HVA assistance, furniture assembly, and home decorating. This was a 4 day project as it was being filmed
