Elizabeth and Steven did a phenomenal job taking care of our 14 week old labradoodle Monty and our 7 year old Jack Russell Terrier Cooper. Because of Monty's age they stayed in our home which was not something we were initially comfortable with until we met Elizabeth. She immediately put us at ease with her professionalism and friendly nature. While the dogs were under their care we received consistent updates on what they were up to. We had a change of schedule and they were incredibly accommodating. Before they left they changed out sheets, cleaned up and left a really nice note...from the dogs. I would highly recommend Pawsitively Purrfect to anyone who needs pet sitting.

Christina was awesome. She kept me updated on my cat Barney during my entire vacation. I knew what he was up to, I received pictures every day and for the first time, I was not worried about my pet while I was traveling! My cat was happy and balanced when we came back. Couldn’t have been any better!

Amy is amazing! In just three sessions we have seen improvement with our crazy fur baby! She knows so much about dogs, people, + how we should be interacting so that we create an environment of respect and understanding. Amy’s style of instruction is such that she assessed and corrected both myself and the dog while not being patronizing towards us. Maui (the dog) responded to Amy positively and was not frightened in the process which is something I looked for while hiring a dog trainer. We didn’t want someone who bullied us or our animal. Amy and I talked a lot about her experience with other animals and she can do some pretty amazing stuff with even the most stubborn, aggressive, and/or problematic animals. Because I was so hesitant to hire a trainer in the beginning I needed to write a wonderful review for Amy because I’m so grateful for our experience with her. If you’re having any doubts at all, go with Amy. She’s also willing to drive a seriously impressive distance to work with her clients. She also offers dog sitting and boarding. All-in-one dog care with someone you can most definitely trust. Thank you so much Amy for everything you have done for our family. We’re still over hear practicing and watching Maui improve every day!

We're so happy we found Chelsea to look after our 3 cats! Two of them are kind of shy and we were worried they would spend the weekend hiding, but Chelsea went out of her way to coax them out and play with them. She stayed in contact with us while we were away and provided photos and updates. I felt totally comfortable leaving our lil ones with her and would definitely recommend her pet sitting services.

Pam watched our dog for a little over a week while my family and I traveled out of town. The overall experience was smooth and great. Pam was responsive, gave updates a couple times a day and immediately if we asked, and was flexible with pickup and drop off times. Our dog even stayed another unplanned night with no problem! I will use her services again in the future.

Julie is amazing! She watched after our three cats for two weeks while we were in Europe. She kept them in a large room in her beautiful, clean home. She gave us daily updates with pictures and videos. One of my cats became sick the day after I dropped them off. She noticed his odd behavior immediately and took him straight to the vet. My cat ended up needing multiple tests and a small procedure performed. Julie took him to all of the vet visits and made sure he was loved and calm. She took all of the necessary precautions and me feel a lot more at ease. I will absolutely be going back to her in the future!

Shawnon is great with my boys and treats them as her own "ratties" (rat terrier twins)!

I love animals. I enjoy sitting for them when their owners can't be there. I will walk, feed, love, and give them plenty of attention when you can't be there.

Your pets will come to know me as a trusted friend of the family. I will learn their habits and what's "normal" behavior for them. If anything appears out of the ordinary, I will tell you about it immediately. I don't just show up and feed them. I play with them. Cuddle them. Love them. I will turn on/off lights, water plants, take in your paper and mail so your home looks lived in. If I notice anything amiss, I will contact you immediately.

I have an enthusiasm for animal care. To me, this is not just a job. I truly care about the animals I care for, making sure to look out for their well-being.

I do pet sitting and cleaning of apartments, houses, and move-ins and -outs. I do regular cleaning. I clean bathrooms and collect garbage form all the rooms, bathrooms and kitchen. My services include dusting, changing sheets, vacuuming, cleaning the kitchen, and mopping hardwood and all floors in the house.

I am great with animals. They are amazing and beautiful to me. I will travel to you to take care of your pet or pets. I offer full services for our customers. I will walk, feed, and play with your pets to keep them happy and satisfied as well as our customers.

I offer professional in-home pet care services. My job is to tailor each visit to the needs of your pets and your home. I am based in Sunnyvale, CA. I service the entire South & Mid-Peninsula areas. I am fully bonded and insured, Red Cross certified in pet first aid, a member of the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Pet Sitters International (PSI). A portion of the proceeds earned from Pet Sitting to the Max is donated to the Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) to help "those less fortunate." My business philosophy is to care for your pets the way YOU would: in the comfort of your own home! Your pets will have the same familiar sights and smells that they are used to while you are away for the day, for the weekend, or longer. With a variety of home sitting services that are also available, this ultimately means less stress on you and more importantly, less stress on your pets. Absolutely, no strangers will enter your home while caring for your pets. I specialize in handling elderly or special-needs pets and maintain an exclusive number of clientele. This assures you that I am committed to providing the highest level of services to you and your loved ones at home. My mission is to provide an unmatched level of love and support to your pets and your home while you are away. I will do everything to ensure their well-being and security. Your complete satisfaction and the welfare of your pets are my ultimate goals. Pet Sitting to the Max is inspired by pet owners for pet owners. The option of leaving your pets at home versus the expense and stress of a kennel or vet stay will allow them to stick to their normal daily routine. Pet Sitting to the Max is a sole proprietorship and is available year round. All of our services include a complimentary in-home consultation prior to starting service. The in-home consultation gives you the opportunity to meet me and go over your detailed, first-hand instructions. It also allows your pet(s) to become acquainted with me in your presence, which is critical to ensuring that your pets will be most comfortable while you are away. The length of visit is normally 45 minutes; however, this can be adjusted if the pet needs additional time due to age, health or special needs of the pet. Here are some features that Pet Sitting to the Max offers: Please note that all of our services are tailored to the needs of your pets. • Daily dog walks while you work or on vacation • Daily, weekly or monthly visits • Freshen water and food each visit • Transportation to and from the vet or groomer • Single or multiple daily visits • Daily log of pets activities and behaviors • Administer prescribed medication • Cleanup of yard, litter boxes, cages, etc. • Collect mails and papers • Water plants and turn on/off lights • Trash and recycle out on collection day I also provide an emergency medical care: In the event of an unforeseen emergency, I will take your pet(s) to your clinic of choice, or after-hours, I will take your pet(s) to one that is 24-hours. I am certified in animal first aid & fully trained in animal CPR. You can rest knowing you hire the best!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

  • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
  • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
    • 45-minute visit: $28.
    • 60-minute visit: $32.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
    • 12 hours: $100.
    • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. Need a dog walker for occasional pet sitting when I'm out of town. Two big dogs or sometimes just the one. One needs to be muzzled when outside or if around other dogs just to be safe. He is fine most of the time, but every now and then he meets a dog he doesn't like. Also has motorcyle/skateboard issues -- but other than that he is a total lover -- I swear! :)
