Introduction: I teach guitar because I love sharing my passion for music with others. I became hooked on guitar around age 12 and I have never looked back. Whenever I can inspire my students to share that passion, I feel accomplished as a teacher. I recognize that every student is different and that their needs can vary. If you are a beginner, I am going to show you the tools you need to start having fun on the instrument right away. If you're more advanced, I'll show you concepts to improve your solo and composing game. Plus, I'll help you bust out of any rut you're in - guaranteed!! You'll be able to communicate with other musicians more effectively and learn to take hold of the music you perform after taking this course. As your confidence and skill level grows, we'll start to develop concepts that go beyond just playing for yourself. Jonathan explains things very well and helps me understand what scales match what chords and why. He simplifies things and is super patient when it comes to explaining things down to the smallest details. I came in only knowing how to make chord shapes. Jon has taught me music theory and I can now locate chords on the fretboard and associate them with lead guitar. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to understand guitar like a second language
