Paul Grether is a very talented musician and teacher and a great person. He is wonderful with kids. He is sweet, smart, motivational, caring and funny. My 9 year old son loves him and loves his guitar lessons. He gave up tennis to have two guitar lessons a week. Paul is so affordable to top it off that we are able to afford two one hour lessons a week. I am thrilled to pieces. Anyone would be lucky to have guitar lessons with Paul.
We decided to chose Brian for my teenage daughter's beginning guitar lessons due to his willingness to teach her the type of songs that she wanted. Right away he connected with her and her music. He taught her the theory behind playing guitar as well as teaching her the tricks and skills of how to play the guitar. His practices were enjoyable and not just rote. She learned very quickly and therefore stayed excited about learning. Brian was always very complementary and encouraging. Brian also helped us buy useful equipment like a tuner, etc. She always felt safe and comfortable. We would highly recommend Brian as a guitar teacher.
We found Sid on Thumbtack and he has been giving guitar lessons to myself and my two kids for last 18 months. He is super great with the kids and an awesome teacher. Would highly recommend.
Been taking electric guitar lessons with Paul for a few months. Would recommend him to others: -Positive and constructive demeanor -Interested in the student -Easy to contact and flexible in scheduling -Has a basic curriculum, but is just as willing to work on specific areas or help you learn your favorite song -Solid practical knowledge of the guitar, backed up with proper music education
Going to Peaceland Music has been a very outstanding experience. My teacher, John, is very knowledgable with guitar, piano, and overall music theory. John is a very funny guy and I'm glad I've been taking guitar lessons with him for the past year and a half. He's made learning guitar very fun and interesting. Aside from learning scales and theory, you also can choose a song and John can work on it with you and help you make your performance of it better. But make sure to practice the theory and scales he gives you! You will fall behind very quick, because the lessons build off of what you previously learned. John is very good at working with people at a variety of different levels. It doesn't matter if you're beginning, intermediate, or advanced, he'll work with you at your level and help build on what you know.
As a first-time guitar player, I thought I could just use the internet to figure out how to play. After a few months of YouTube videos, I wasn't making much progress beyond open chords and basic songs learning became mundane. As a new year resolution I've decided to find an instructor and after I started taking lessons with Steve, playing the guitar started to make sense. He is very patient and uses a practical teaching method, I feel more confident and enjoy learning to play the guitar. I still have a long way to go, but at least the foundation is building up. I would highly recommend Steve to anybody looking for a great instructor that is able to adjust to any skill level.
Beginner electric bass guitar lessons, 1 hour per week, at Rancho Canyon Music. I have been taking lessons with Lou for two months. Lou is an experienced, knowledgeable, and patient instructor. Additionally, he is personable and has a good sense of humor which makes the lessons fun. Lou finds ways to easily relate a theory or technique to you in everyday terms. He is a formally trained musician who performs regularly for audiences. His training and regular performing, coupled with his teaching techniques makes him my first choice for music instruction. Lou arrives on time and is ready begin working with you, evidence he values your time as well. Lou goes above and beyond for his students by providing in class resources, useful online content, and instructional online videos. All of which I have found helpful and not readily found in other music instructors. Lou can quickly analyze what is happening and provide you with helpful input to help you understand and improve. It is clear to me Lou understands the teaching process. He explains things in a logical order, using building blocks of learning. I would highly recommend Lou to all of my family and friends. An hour lesson is filled with easily digestible information and practical application. My understanding and enjoyment of playing my bass guitar has been energized working with Lou.
Omar was a great teacher who made each lesson challenging but fun at the same time. I learned a lot from him in a short time about finger picking and chord progressions, and he introduced me to a lot of perfect songs to learn on guitar that I wouldn't have known otherwise.
Chris is an amazing teacher. He really doesn’t like to mess around. Learning how to play the guitar is not an easy task at all, but after just a few lessons with Chris I can guarantee that you’ll feel more confident in your ability.
I've been taking guitar lessons with Kimberly since the beginning of 2011. At the time I'd had several years of lessons using a traditional method on acoustic guitar and was looking for a teacher who could help me focus on electric blues rock and move me beyond my intermediate skill level. Kimberly has a real focus on and talent for teaching. My lessons are tailored to meet my interests. A large part of the lesson is devoted to learning her method for blues soloing--at least 5 approaches to improvisation and comping. After several years, I've come to see how these approaches interweave, complement each other and have become an intuitive part of my musical vocabulary. Also, because I expressed an interest, part of the lesson involves sight reading, learning blues and jazz theory, developing rhythmic playing sense, and learning a few favorite solos. Kimberly has an amazing ability to tab out and teach any song you give her. Which leads to the best part--after 6 months I was invited to play with one of her ensemble classes. While I was absolutely petrified with fear at the beginning, this has turned into one of the highlights of my week every week. It is just downright fun! It's a safe and forgiving environment where you can make mistakes and learn, or try things out that might flop, or turn into something cool. Every teacher and guitar magazine article all point to the need to play with other musicians to develop your skills and this is where Kimberly Allison really delivers. I feel that I could now sit in with other musicians and contribute. I give my highest recommendation for taking lessons with Kimberly.
Max is a great guitar teacher. Right from the get-go he was flexible, friendly and seemed to get what I needed as a musician. I've had lessons in the past where it was either boring (music theory) or too scatterbrained for me to connect all the dots. Max has a way of zoning in on what you need specifically at the moment and tailoring the lesson toward that. I don't think you can find a better deal in Los Angeles.
At the age of 9 my son Julian started to take group guitar lessons from Pat. After that session I ask Pat if he does private lessons, he said yes but its at La Puente. So from Chino Hills I took my son to La Puente every Saturday for the next 5 years. He is very good with kids and I highly recommend him. My son now 18 enjoys writing songs & performing.
Ivan showed up on time, and had an extra guitar for me handy (per my request). He was very informative and affable. Ivan taught me five chords, and showed me how to use an electronic tuner. I can't wait to move forward with our weekly sessions.
Steve is a wonderful teacher. When I started lessons I had been playing for a while but I needed guidance on where to go from just basic chords and strumming patterns. Steve tailored my lessons to the genres I wanted to study while giving me exercises that would better my study no matter what direction I chose to go. We even started coupling the guitar lessons with banjo lessons! Steve is well versed in so many genres and instruments and on top of that, he is a friendly, patient and fun person who communicates well and is easy to get along with.
Juan is awesome and really seems to love the art of teaching. He can explain a technique and then play examples on his guitar. Just my first lesson but I really am looking forward to the next one !!!
Daniel has been giving my 10 year old son guitar lessons online for several months now and I couldn't be happier with our experience! The online lessons are extremely convenient for our busy lifestyle and Daniel's teaching technique has captured the attention of my busy body son. He's learned so much these past few months and he loves it! Thank you Daniel!
Lucas is a very talented musician and teacher. He has taught guitar to both of my kids for the past 5 years. He's patient, fun and willing to tailor lessons to the individual's needs and personal goals. My 13 year old son (who has taken lessons with Lucas since 2nd grade) has learned to read notes, play chords and how to improvise on the guitar through his lessons with Lucas. He plays in our church band and does very well.
Mike Levin has been teaching guitar to our 11-year-old daughter for 18 months or so. He did a great job of teaching her the fundamentals and giving her all the tools she needed to succeed. By playing along with his electric guitar it makes it even more fun! Some of the music even comes with CDs to help with background music. Once our daughter had the basics down Mike made the class all about what she wanted to learn. He asked her to look through her iPod playlists and tell him who her favorite artists where or what were her favorite songs. We would then print off the sheet music and Mike would teach her the song and then have her play along with her iPod. It is a great way to learn! When Mike offered Skype lessons we were happy to try them they have been great! Not only does it save Mike drive time, it is a lot of fun! Our daughter stays focused, likes using the Skype technology, and especially likes it when Mike records her music and then puts it on YouTube. This allows our out-of-state family to watch and listen to our daughter play her guitar these are very proud moments for her! Our daughter is thoroughly enjoying her time learning the guitar with Mike...practicing is not an issue! I believe it is because he makes it fun to learn! Thanks, Mike!
Bobby John is a great teacher. He was able to recognize my intermediate skill level and appropriately design lessons tailored to my ability. We are currently working on multiple strum / picking patters as well as some theory working toward a goal of learning Jazz and Blues guitar. His unique teaching style is great because it is both fun and rewarding.
Guitar theory lessons. Mike is a very knowledgeable musician with a lot of patience and a knack for explaining thing in several different ways so as you can grasp the concept of what is being studied. He's very friendly and makes you comfortable while learning what he's teaching you.
He communicated very effectively and was on time for my son's lesson. He was patient and relaxed when teaching my son guitar. I would recommend him to my friends and family😁
