Introduction: BACKGROUND: Hello, my name is Eric. I am a student at Cal State Los Angeles majoring in Mathematics. I transferred to CSULA from East Los Angeles Community College. Honestly, when I first enrolled at ELAC, I HATED MATH!!! Of course, it didn't help that I was starting out at the lowest level. Initially, I struggled. Things changed, however, once I sought out tutoring. The tutors there not only helped change my grade but also my view on Mathematics. I actually began to enjoy Math and its almost limitless applications. I quickly changed my major from History to Math. With time and determination, I finished all the math classes offered all the way up to Linear Algebra and Differential Equations. I also took Numerical Analysis and Abstract Algebra. Along the way, I never forgot the contribution the tutors made. I aspired to have the same impact on another student's scholastic life. In fact, I got a job working as a Math Tutor for the East LA College Math Lab for two and a half years. I performed private tutoring (all levels & ages) during that time as well. I have been through all the classes you are taking. This experience has helped me develop tutoring lessons which are simple and easy to understand. I try to make Math straight forward and even a little fun. Don't fall behind in your class, seek help today! SERVICES: I offer tutoring in all Math levels including (but not limited to) Algebra, Statistics(business, engineering, psychological), Geometry, Business Calculus, Calculus and Differential Equations. I have extensive tutoring experience and can provide references upon request. Currently I am employed as a tutor for my school although I work off campus as well. I charge $14-$35 depending on the level of Math. Thanks and good luck.

Eric is the best math tutor ever. I had basically received a D+ on a midterm exam and in 3 to 4 sessions I had an A and passed my accelerated Statistics class.

Meeting Eric was a blessing. He is very patient and can make it so easy to understand. Anyone who struggles with math can learn from him. I have met him a handful of times and have learned more than expected. I will be keeping him around for a long time and anyone who is questionable, trust me, he knows his stuff. -Danny

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I offer tutoring in Algebra, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, Business Calculus, as well as Calculus 1 and 2. I am new to thumbtack but not at all new to tutoring. I've been working as a tutor for my current school for 2 and a half years. If you don't live too far, I am willing to come out to you but would prefer we meet halfway. Typically, I meet clients at local libraries, coffee shops, restaurants or through Skype. Each time, my clients have left feeling they have a better understanding of the material we've reviewed. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact me.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Be ready to learn! I try to make math fun and easy to understand. My instruction is straight forward and to the direct. I try to make math as easy as 1,2,3 (sorry for the cheesy pun). Most of all, I take the stress out of math. Get ready to pass your class!!
