Jon is an absolute please to work with. Over the 6 months that I worked with him, we brainstormed together over story lines and branding strategy and Jon would take the vision and bring together a beautiful and visually compelling short video. He was able to use footage that we had, he was able to direct remote teams to get the footage he needed, and he was able to capture the footage himself and edit it all to tell the best story. We have worked together on a wide range of video story-telling projects from animations to interviews and covering events. Jon is capable of delivering great quality work from the beginning to the very end.

Working with Jon is wonderful, because he genuinely cares about his work. His breadth of experience also proves to be a spring of fresh ideas one may not have otherwise considered. I highly recommend him.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

A multimedia producer should be able to speak back your story, and improve on it in some way after talking with you for 15 minutes. At the same time, you should be looking for someone who is willing to tell you that part of your project is either not feasible, or will ultimately distract from your goals.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

From the outside, multimedia production looks like the secret is in knowing the software and how to work a camera, but that's all secondary to knowing how to tell a good story. When you look at pricing remember that your instinct to say "well, my nephew has a DSLR and a Mac, why am I paying this guy so much?" is on one level valid: anyone can learn a camera and editing software. But it takes time, experience, and talent to be able to quickly and consistently understand a client's needs and come back with a product that exceeds them.
