We were hoping to help out other consumers by writing an honest and accurate review (both the positives and negatives) of the services performed by The Superior Finish. However, we are unable to provide an evaluation due to the threat of legal action from the owner for any negative public reviews. We are a young family of social workers, and despite our confidence in the review we would have written we cannot risk the financial burden of a legal battle. We are sorry that we cannot provide a review, as we know how helpful they can be when making decisions on how to spend your money.

The Superior Finish's reply

Consumer received multiple FREE services from us, the consumer was unhappy when they requested additional free services and (after multiple applications of paint to a fence they wanted additional applications for free) were told that we would be more than happy to provide the additional services at a charge. The consumer then began threatening us with posting negative reviews based on inaccurate information across the web if we did not provide the service for free. We consulted with our attorney and were informed that if consumer did so we could hold them accountable in court. We relayed this information to the consumer and continued to work with the consumer to try to find a compromise but the consumer stopped communicating. The Superior Finish completed everything in the contract PLUS extra at no additional charge and will be more than happy to provide any future customer any additional information (all information will will edited to protect consumers privacy as we take the privacy of all clients and prospective clients very seriously) regarding the situation to help them aid in the decision making process.

Very responsive and professional, even in the tough situation the crew had to work in. We needed multiple fence posts put in during winter, and I really appreciated Ryan's experience and perspective to do the job right. I would definitely do business with The Superior Finish again.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
One of the co-owners of The Superior Finish began working on decks and refinishing them 10 years ago. It is something he has always loved doing. The other co-owner (husband and wife team) has spent 16 years working in real estate and has seen what happens to homes that are not cared for and has seen people loose a lot of their investment and enjoyment of their home. Together they decided to start their own restoration company. They both feel extremely passionate about what they are doing...helping homeowners not only protect their investment but enjoy it! When your service provider is passionate and happy doing what they do the customer ALWAYS gets a better quality service.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure the provider is providing quality and value, make sure they use high quality materials even if it costs a bit more up front it will cost less over the long run. If you are repairing or building a fence ask the people providing bids if they use nails or screws, a fence using screws will hold up to adverse weather conditions better. Also make sure your service provider is insured, insurance is the most important thing. If something goes wrong on your jobsite you want to know your service provider has the resources to fix it.
