I hired Denver Painting Specialists to paint two walls in the master bedroom, an accent wall in a loft, an office, and a nursery in a newly purchased, cleaned, and vacant house. Alex was pleasant and was enthusiastic, especially about the nursery, when he provided a responsive in-person estimate for one day’s work at $850. I agreed and the work was scheduled quickly.
The work crew arrived early and most things were prepped correctly. However, several issues hindered the quality of service. First, the worker who operated the paint sprayer left the site before noon and did not return until 5:30 in the afternoon. He took two attempts to texture one wall in the nursery, so an 8 hour job turned into a 14 hour job. To their credit, the workers stayed to finish the job, but the quality of the work seems like it declined further into the day and several corners were cut late on. When they finished, the workers packed the truck and left without closing the front door behind them.
The workers were messy. I found numerous paint drips on the wood floor in the bedroom and on the newly cleaned carpet on the stairs. The nursery carpet has a large stain where mixing occurred and the office carpet has a stain from the paint sprayer. Drop clothes were originally placed on all pathways in and out of the home but were removed throughout the day for some reason, and paint and drywall dust were tracked around the house. Putty was left on windows and not all of the painter’s tape was removed. There are many spots of paint outside on the sidewalk where brushes were cleaned and buckets were dumped.
I would consider hiring CPS for small and easy jobs. Alex is a great guy but I think he overpromised and his crew underdelivered.
