I had the privilege of learning French from Dr. Heger a few years back. I studied with her for three years. She brought me from barely saying bonjour correctly to reading stories, translating and even thinking in French. Her approach is gentle, yet effective and never boring! I always looked forward to our sessions and am thankful that I had the opportunity to learn from her.

I've been seeing Dr. Heger for French help, as I took an online course and quite obviously missed out on some important things about the language. I'm moving to an actual French class in the fall for high school, and I've felt the need to prepare. It's only been a few lessons so far, and my pronunciation has already improved greatly along with my understanding of grammar. She drills you very thoroughly in vocabulary, verbs, meaning etc... The lessons have a very relaxed atmosphere and I would overall highly recommend Dr. Heger!

Dr. Heger was a wonderful mentor and tutor for my son. She helped him learn the fundamentals for his French class and dramatically improve his grade. She made learning fun and he improved his pronunciation and conversational skills so he was eager to participate in class.

How can I describe my experience learning under under Dr. Heger? There is something quite vulnerable about studying language. Teaching it requires tact, authority, understanding and more than anything experience. She possesses all of these qualities. Her method if choice is effective and comprehensive. This was an expectation of mine. What exceeded my expectations were the literary references and recommendations, and the anecdotal explanations of finer linguistic and cultural points. She has an advanced understanding of European history, particularly as it applies to the formation of modern language. I'm proud to recommend her to any serious student.

My students pay me by the hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each student is unique. I teach according to the needs and goals of each student as the lessons are one on one. Also, not all students are beginners nor do they comes to me for the same reasons. Some are prospective tourists to France, others are business, and yet others are either College or High School students wanting to improve their grades or prepare for a aparticular exam.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Diplome Superier from the Alliance Francaise and also a Master's degree in Anglish Literature and French. I have taught French for decades.
