Sterling is calm, laid back and easy to work with. I first had Sterling perform a full repair and refinish of an old barrel desk. What struck me about him at first was his appreciation of the wood and the workmanship and his knowledge of the kind of wood and what would work and wouldn't work well for the project. He provided an estimate and billed me the same number even though he ended up putting in more work, he took the difference as his error in estimating. The desk looks amazing. He put in extra efforts and time into cleaning up the brass decorative items and nobs to ensure they matched the re-done beauty of the rest. He also came to my home several times to make minor repairs/tweaks that were needed.
After his amazing work on the desk, I've had him do many other pieces such as old but ornate twin bed frames/headboards and a chair. I have a second desk that I'll have him tackle when I'm ready.
Another nice thing about Sterling is he'll give you options, such as the level of effort/quality he can provide. I had a very cheap bookshelf that I just wanted to match the rest of the furniture (the desk mentioned above) in the room, so he offered a less expensive approach and it came out looking great, without the extra effort on a less valuable base piece.
