FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's not really possible to give proper quotes without full information about how much time is involved, how many people there will be, discussion of the menu, travel arrangements and so on. Feel free to contact me for an initial consultation on these things, and I'm sure we can work out something to fit your budget.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I need lots of information about what types of food we are dealing with, what the individual tastes, requirements, restrictions of all people involved, what type of class or event we are talking about and so on. Compared to other services, Thumbtack does a pretty good job of gathering some initial information, but it's still not usually any where near enough for an actual quote, or even to be sure that my skills and services are a good match for what the client is planning. So we probably need to talk, or at least send some texts or emails back and forth.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have absolutely no formal education on the subject of food, but I have read several books, I have a collection of cookbooks, I have access to the Internet of course, and I have decades of experience with all sorts of cooking, adjusting menus, creating menus and hosting events and parties.
