Introduction: Having 25 years of experience playing piano and 15 years of private teaching, I enjoy working with students of all ages, levels and backgrounds. With the right encouragement and my down-to-earth teaching style, I'm positive you will progress with piano quicker than you realize! I work with your pace, and am always fully open to addressing your needs, questions and concerns at the piano. I focus mainly on classical repertoire; however, if you have a pop song you would like to learn, I will be more than happy to help you learn it. It's important that a student likes the repertoire he or she is playing. Lessons should be fun and enjoyable. I highly recommend Hanna Aparo who played the piano at a function sponsored by a women's press club. She arrived early so she could prepare the lighting and quickly practice on the piano at the location. As guests interacted, she played a mixture of classical and jazz music, creating a warm ambiance. I received several compliments from guests about how much they enjoyed hearing her play.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During our first lesson, it is a chance for me to assess where you are at in your musical studies. If total beginner, we go over hand warm-ups, beginner music, note reading. For students with some experience, I have them prepare a piece or two. I also like to get to know who I am working with and see if we are good fit!

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started teaching when I was in community college and never looked back! I enjoy working with other students and helping them grow as musicians, at the same time enjoying the process of learning and working through challenges.
