I didn’t actually end up working with them, but I needed a project done last minute with no wiggle room for scheduling. Their estimate was exactly what I had in mind. They were very responsive and willing to help me at the last minute without an exorbitant up charge. I hope to use their services soon on future projects.

We talked at great length about weeding. I was sent a written contract with "weed removal" as a line item. When the crew arrived, they said that only meant spraying weed killer and the price was now doubled. They were already 1 week late from scheduled time and grass was getting really high. They agreed to do "some weeding", and I had to leave, so I payed them the contracted price anyway. They did no weeding, didn't even apply weedkiller, damaged one plant so that it subsequently died, and presumably killed another plant because it was gone when I returned home. Did not respond to messages about these problems. I've filed a complaint with Thumbtack.
Bait and switch pricing, damage to bedding plants. Go elsewhere.
UPDATE: This company contacted me only after I left a negative review. Their comment is disengenous at best, and contains outright lies. I was very specific that the job was primarily for weeding, with a small amount to mow. The price would be exceedingly high to mow just that small bit of grass. If weedkiller was applied, it must be extremely slow acting, as none of the weeds show any signs of being sprayed. The dandelions are unaffected, as are the other weeds. The only dead plant is the one your crew crushed and killed (after I showed them that it was NOT a weed). One plant is just mysteriously gone, presumably because your crew killed it too. They must have thought the severely damaged plant had a chance to survive, but the missing plant must have been too far gone. After you responded to my review, I received a $25, not a $35, refund. That won't even cover replacing the two plants that either were removed or left to die.
I stand by my review.

To clarify, we issued a $30 refund on the same day it was requested(may take 2-7 business days by Venmo policy), in addition to the $25 Venmo transaction you received. This was done in good faith to address your concerns and as a gesture of goodwill.
If your expectation from the beginning was to receive free services, we wish that had been communicated clearly so we could have avoided this misunderstanding. We do provide free services on Saturdays to seniors and individuals in need through our organization, HP for Your Community, and we’re always happy to help when it’s part of that initiative.
We appreciate your feedback and will use it to continue improving. We wish you all the best in finding a provider that aligns with your expectations.
