First of all I want to say that I feel horrible for writing this review- I was gonna let it go but everyone advised me to warn people about her so I decided to write one in hopes you won't have the nightmare I did in hiring her. I hired Ashley with the hopes of great work even against the strong gut feeling to not hire her. I hired her to take photos and make a calendar for me for my boyfriends birthday. I let her know my time line and asked her if this would all be possible BEFORE I hired her. She agreed to everything making it seem as if there would be No problem with that. Boy was I wrong in taking her word. Here we go... So, we were scheduled for our appointment at 7:30am mid November of last year. I was so nervous (as I'm sure most women are doing their first boudoir photo shoot). I got ready that morning; did my hair and make up better than I ever had before just to get a message on here (didn't even bother to send me a text message or call me) at 7:15 that she will not be able to make it she gave me an excuse about her husband being in the hospital (I did not think it was an excuse at the time until she gave me 5 other ones through the 4 miserable months I had to deal with her). I was completely ready and upset that she couldn't make it at the scheduled time, but I understand things happen. Great. We rescheduled for the next day. She came and we did our shoots. She took very minimal angles and gave me little direction (I specifically asked for this from the beginning as I feel like I needed assistance since this was my first shoot ever.) she kept saying oh I can crop this out and I can edit that, yet on the edited photos she later sent (which were also sent too late), she did not. Being a graphic designer, I was skeptical that she would be able to crop certain things out, but gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking she maybe was a pro and better than I was at this. That was not the case, in fact it seemed as if she had little to no training on photo editing. Blurring a photo and adding a filter is not "editing". I kept asking if I could see the shots after each outfit change and she was skeptical every time to show me, sometimes just ignoring it completely (once I got the photos, I realized why) the angles were horrible! It was INCREDIBLY difficult to find photos that were useable. We get finished I paid her and gave her a $10 tip. The biggest mistake I made was paying her for the full project before I got my calendar as she took my $50 + $10 tip that she actually didn't deserve (didn't know until I seen the shots that she took of me) and till this day she has not refunded me for it just fyi. My boyfriends birthday was Dec 1st and she was supposed to edit the photos, send them to her friend who was supposed to lay the calendar out and then get them printed at a printer and I was to pick them up the day before dec. 1st. I had to text her multiple times asking about status updates and sometimes she would respond and sometimes she wouldn't. The times that she did respond, it was with "he said he will have it done tomorrow" and that was the response for days and days. Needless to say- she never delivered. Thank God that I am a graphic designer and was able to get the calendar layed out (10 hours of work) and sent it to the printer to get printed but couldn't surprise my boyfriend on his birthday as planned. I would have really appreciated her telling me she just couldn't do it so I could have taken care of it in advance instead she just fed me lies as to how it would get done. Nope, she just took my money and ran. She is a great talker but is HORRIBLE on all levels... Communication, photography, editing, everything! She knows this was for a calendar, so WHY would she take so many vertical shots when calendars are wide? None of the shots she took could be layed out on the calendar without adding blank spaces to the side. It looked horrible but luckily being a designer, I was able to spice it up a bit by getting very creative. That does NOT make ANY sense to me. It's COMMON SENSE If she was an actual photographer, like... Really? She literally is a person with a camera charging to take photos. She is NOT a photographer. So anyway I asked her to refund me the money and she made excuses that her bank was just not sending me the refund... Like what bank just doesn't send a refund that you ask them to? Let's be real. Do not insult my intelligence like that. She told me this excuse 3 times and a few times I checked in with her throughout these 3 months, she just completely ignored me and didnt respond. I finally asked her to meet me somewhere and of courseeeee I get a text that her car broke dow blah blah blah. She is such a scam artist. It got to the point that I Wanted her OUT OF MY LIFE so I told her you know what just keep the money since I know I'm not getting it back. She basically said okay and that was that. Haha she claims she is a professional.. what a joke. Spend your money on a real professional, not this scam artist!! Makes me wonder what quality using Thumbtack even has since clearly they do not vet the people they back up.
