FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We bid based on expected time to complete projects. Bids are fixed price based on final estimates. This means no extra costs will be added at a later date. Our rates are transparent and as follows: Drafting/Design & Site Visit: $90/hr Project Management, Planning, & Permitting: $44/hr Our rates are provided at a discount to firms with (a) Licensed Architect(s) on staff. We are unable to provide commercial services and are restricted to certain types of residential structures, on a state-by-state basis. This helps us keep our rates low. Thumbtack often misrepresents the services that we offer. Under no circumstance, does Mountain West Modeling provide services for commercial projects, including consultations. This includes duplexes, triplexes, apartment complexes, or commercial-use buildings (such as a restaurant or cafe).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1) We typically offer a free consultation. For clients who reach us through Thumbtack, due to how Thumbtack is set up (we are charged for every lead), your final estimate may include the cost of communicating with you. Unfortunately, Thumbtack is not transparent about this. If you choose not to go with us, there is still no cost to you. 2) Once the consultation is finished, a final estimate (Design Proposal) will be sent. 3) If you approve of the final estimate, a Design Contract will be sent for signing. 4) Once we have all signed the Design Contract, work will commence. If a Site Visit is required, the date will be solidified at this point. Our turnaround for the first round of deliverables is typically within 2-3 weeks of the Site Visit.
