FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $30 per 1/2 hour, $50 per hour. Typically I prefer hour lessons as there is more time to settle in on the material.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For new students my process is follows: - Review experience, if any, on the instrument. - Go over goals and aspirations (what do you hope to get out of this?) - Find a comfortable time to meet that works for both parties. - Each new student will leave with an assignment or exercise to have prepared for our next lesson.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music where I studied Jazz perfomance. My experience performing Jazz, Rock, Folk, Latin, Hip-Hop, Electronic Music ( among other genres) at a high level has prepared me to teach the next generation or modern drummers. I tour nationally with a live electronic trio called DYNOHUNTER. We bridge the gap between electronic and live/improvised music playing some of most renowned venues and festivals in the country. Aside from my main group, I perform as a sideman in several Top 40 groups every month, a live Hip-Hop group, and I am exposed to many different musical situations nightly. I am also very fortunate to have spent 2 years performing in the showband for Holland America Cruise Line, where I honed my reading chops with people from all different backgrounds and nationalities. Often times, we'd have 30 minutes to read/rehearse a new show and perform it that evening to a capacity crowd! The bottom line: I'm a true working professional in the music industry and I strive to pass along the wealth of knowledge I've gathered to my students.
