Malorie cleaned our home today and did a great job! It is very easy to communicate with her. She is very kind and polite and definitely listens to her clients' needs and wants. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing for SM Clean is customized for each individual job and scope of work. Pricing is always a flat rate vs. an hourly rate. The flat rate is thoughtfully calculated by the type of work that is required, time, location, sq. footage, etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In the early stages of my business I had a mentor that helped me learn all the tips and tricks to being an attentive and remarkable cleaner. I’ve also been able to perfect my skills through hands on experiences, and with trial and error over the last 8+ years.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was inspired and motivated to work for myself; I knew I enjoyed helping people so I decided to start a business in January of 2016 catering to busy people who needed help with errands, house chores, pet sitting etc.
I had created a profile on Thumbtack to start picking up clients, and I ended up picking up a few cleaning jobs. Then from those few jobs / clients my business grew quickly by word of mouth, and I was able to quit my restaurant server position in July of 2016 and do my business full time.
8+ years later my business is solely focused on cleaning. I am currently transitioning out of residential cleaning to commercial and construction cleaning; so as I transition, I decided to re-activate my thumbtack profile and find clients the same way I did in 2016. 😊
