- What types of customers have you worked with?
There is no typical job in landscaping. Over the years I've done numerous landscape installation jobs from "dirt" to finish product. A lot goes into making that final product a success: proper grade, soil amendment, drainage, irrigation, planting, hardscapes, and sod to name the most common. The most common for me over the years has been planter beds/sod and hardscapes.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Know what you want or know the questions you want the landscaper to answer. Check magazines like Better Homes and Gardens or TOH for great ideas for your outdoor areas, then ask the professionals how to make them fit your house. Once you've found the right one then have a solid contract that lays out the plan, the materials, the timeline, and price. That's a recipe for success.
