Two words...tough love!!! Amanda knows which questions to ask and how to analyze food intake/nutrition unlike anyone else I've worked with in the past. I was experiencing adrenal fatigue and intermittent bouts of depression and had an interest in getting off some of the medications I was taking. As a personal trainer, I tried everything I thought would help me get back on track but I couldn't get out of my "rut". My doctor told me that I needed to increase my fat/cholesterol intake, which I thought was absurd. I decided it was time to consult with someone who understood nutrition and supplementation as well as what it takes to maintain good health. Amanda had me do a 7 day food diary to see what I was eating on a consistent basis so she could assess what I was doing right then compare those results to my deficient areas. Needless to say, she too determined that my saturated fat/cholesterol levels were too low. She also looked at what was missing from my diet and got me on some different vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Within about a week I started feeling some improvement but still didn't feel like myself. After a month of making some additional adjustments, I'm happy to say that Amanda got me back on track and feeling good again. Amanda is extremely well educated and easy to work with. She focuses on long term solutions for nutrition, not just a fad diet. I like that she looks at bloodwork and gives specific recommendations based on you as an individual. It is helpful to have someone look at the core issues around weight gain and metabolism and not just offer suggestions in a cookie cutter way. Amanda does an amazing job at helping each individual find what's right for them as far as nutrition. I love the fact that she isn't about giving anything up but incorporating "real life" scenarios into a healthy lifestyle while teaching why a person might want to choose something over something else. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?My pricing is designed so that everyone on most budgets can work with me and take away something valuable and implementable. I always offer a FREE 15 min call to find out if we are a good fit to work together. I can offer you a $50 discount through Thumbtack on my initial 90min Optimal You Discovery Session which is typically $150. Follow up sessions are 45mins and $80 or there are discounts for packages of weekly sessions. See my website for other programs and prices.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?During our first session we typically review your intake form in more depth to understand your goals, health issues, health history and more. I take some time to explain in more depth the ways that we can work together and how the tools that I have may be helpful to you. From there I will recommend a program for you and we will make a decision about next steps. Before you leave there will be some things to get started on toward your goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am a Certified Nutrition Therapy Practitioner trained at the Nutrition Therapy Institute in Denver. You can read more about me on my website.
