FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
75/hour or 650/day (up to 10 hrs) engineering and studio. Producer fees are based upon the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It all starts with the consultation. It is important to find out the scope of a creative work as soon as possible whether you are working with seasoned pros or beginners. This helps to create confidence on both sides of the equation and getting a realistic picture upfront helps to bring the project to fruition. There are always budgeting concerns, so having a good plan is a must. Being realistic is something I try to work with folks on as well. We all start out with big dreams and not every performance is perfect. It is important to believe in the art and character in the recording. A lot of the most famous recordings would be considered flawed in purely technical terms, but more importantly we are human and there can be such life in a song. In that respect I find that I like to capture the spirit of a song.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Master of Music Performance, Formal research in Psychoacoustics, Bill Thomas (apprentice). I learned a lot from my time as a youngster with George Clinton and the P Funk All Stars. Orchestral Conducting.
