Before I started taking voice lessons, the only aspects of an instructor I wanted was for them to value the perfection of fundamentals and discipline within the trade of singing. Veronique Van Pelt possesses both of these qualities (and many more) as an instructor and has certainly deserved the position as my recommendation for others who seek to discover and develop their singing voice.Sep 22, 2018

My journey with music is very important to me and Veronique has proven to be a wonderful coach. Her technique and overall process for developing the voice have been invaluable in my efforts to bring out my voice. I feel that I am not just learning to sing notes but rather learning to use song as an instrument to communicate my life.Apr 10, 2019Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? The first lesson is always free. After that, as the rookie of this school of Top 40 technique I am only $60/hour (my coach is more than double this). Also this is reflective of my nearly full student roster. While I can offer half hour lessons at $35 each, I do not generally recommend these as these lessons require a full hour to make substantial progress - a lot of conditioning, a lot like vocal calisthenics. This of course does not necessarily hold for lessons in instruments, songwriting, music business and production.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The first lesson has to be free! This takes away the pressure for both student and coach to achieve immediate results and allows room for the student to assess whether this is a style of teaching they will benefit from. That said, I also try to squeeze as much as possible into that round of free advice, to give the student the chance to take it and run with developing their voice, even if we never meet again.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?In addition to beginning rigorous lessons with my mother starting age 3, theatre at age 6, and professional singing at age 9, I completed a songwriting and recording mentor program with an award winning Denver production crew while studying at the University of Southern California, where I earned a B. of Sc. in Music Industry business emphasis cum laude from Thornton School of Music. While still at USC my music began receiving placements in television and I recorded and wrote for numerous network productions. I am a prolific songwriter with hundreds of solo and co-written compositions on piano and guitar, I have participated professionally in groups across the musical spectrum, and including the three upcoming releases I have sung lead on 9 studio projects including several full length albums. I also voice act two leads in an upcoming independent game for PC. I am also an active working musician with a variety of self-accompanied live shows from cabaret to country.
