I've been on partial sabbatical for a couple years studying the interplay of trauma and voice - if this is of interest to you, please do ask! I'm excited to share what I've learned with you. I'm a vocal coach who teaches out of my experience of also being a professional musician. My goal as a coach is not to have you coming back week after week - I want you to get control of your voice, which usually takes about 4 sessions on average - hence the incentive to commit to at least 4 sessions. After that, I try to offer even deeper discounts to reward your commitment to deep conditioning your vocal habits. If you would like a single session with me, as a beginner just starting out or a pro seeking the tune up, I hope to drastically improve your familiarity with your voice in one hour, with: - a download of exactly how your voice works, in fun easy to understand terms, - a bunch of diagnostic exercises to start getting in touch with your voice right away, - a clear understanding of how to coach your own voice for maximum health and performance *for the rest of your life*, and - an intro to the special proprietary scales we'll be using to intensively condition your voice with good habits. It should also be noted that, although this is a high performance vocal technique, the emphasis is on vocal health and safety. It is also an appropriate activity for seeking to prevent or recover from trauma or physical damage affecting the voice. Speciality with preproduction and in studio/on set coaching. With the help of my B. of Sc. cum laude in music industry with an emphasis in business from the University of Southern California Thornton School, my now decades of active experience in music allows me to coach voice and most subjects associated with it including self-accompaniment on piano and guitar, home studio production, and acting. I also enjoy working with artist development coaching to seeking to approach individual artistry as holistically as possible, and I especially enjoy working with songwriting/music theory. I tailor each experience to the unique needs of each individual, from children to professionals, all needs and genders. My practice is trauma informed. As a former child prodigy, it’s especially important to me to help folks integrate their whole authentic selves into healthy vocal expression. Singing is a full body mindful activity, and it’s important to pay attention to whatever emotions and memories come up in your mind and in your body in the course of that experience. In that way, vocal sessions can be excellent meditation and physical/emotional self-care. I will help you identify the mechanics of how your voice works while we work to create and build support for self-nurturing habits, to prepare you to be a fearless, joyful, autodidactic vocal artist til your dying day. By nature of the results driven technique, I am proud of my high turnaround of satisfied students, many of whom are themselves professional musicians.
